The Yankees played miserably Saturday and received the proper punishment. 

Bad start by Will Warren, poor relief by Ryan Yarbrough, unacceptable defense by multiple players, no hits in 13 at-bats with runners in scoring position and an unpardonable baserunning snafu by José Caballero resulted in a 10-2 Reds rout before a sellout crowd at Yankee Stadium. 

By the end, the Yankees were using a position player, Max Schuemann, to pitch for the first time this year. 

But Warren’s start resonated most. In the big picture, who occupies the back of the Yankees rotation, the bullpen and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre roster is a huge subject.
