In just a few short hours, the complete 2026 NFL regular season schedule will be released. You can watch the announcement on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. ET, but a slew of high-profile games for the upcoming season have already been revealed.

The 2026-27 season will feature a record nine international games, including a historic Week 1 Thursday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia. Not only is it the first regular-season game to be played in Australia, but it’ll also be streaming live on Netflix.

The final international game of the regular season will also feature the 49ers as San Fran travels to Mexico City to battle the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11’s Sunday Night Football matchup on NBC and Peacock.

When Does Thursday Night Football Start?

The first TNF game of the 2026-27 season takes place on… Netflix! The NFL season begins with the first-ever regular-season NFL game in Australia as the Los Angeles Rams collide with the San Francisco 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, September 10.

When Does TNF Start On Prime Video?

The first Thursday Night Football game on Prime Video takes place the following week (Thursday, September 17) when the Buffalo Bills host the Detroit Lions to kick off Week 2 of the season.

How Many NFL Games Will Air on Netflix?

The streamer will air five games during the 2026 regular season:

  • Thursday, September 10: Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers in Australia
  • Wednesday, November 25 (Thanksgiving Eve): Green Bay Packers @ Los Angeles Rams
  • Friday, December 25 at 1:00 p.m. ET: TBD

When Does Monday Night Football Start?

The first regular-season Monday Night Football game takes place on September 14 as the Denver Broncos go on the road to face the Kansas City Chiefs at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC, ESPN, and NFL+.
