Eight years after Boots Riley rocked the indie film world with his outrageous, critically-acclaimed comedy Sorry to Bother You, the filmmaker and activist is back with a new feature film, I Love Boosters. And it promises to just as hilarious, thought-provoking, and stylish as his first film.
Written and directed by Riley, I Love Boosters stars Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, and Poppy Liu as a group of organized shoplifters—or “boosters”—who target a ruthless fashion designer (played by Demi Moore) after they find out she stole their design ideas. The sprawling ensemble cast includes Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Don Cheadle, and many more names you’d probably recognize.
I Love Boosters first premiered back in March at SXSW where it was met with positive reviews from critics, who praised the film’s smart and funny anti-capitalist themes. If it’s anything like Sorry to Bother You, this movie will be a wild ride that you’ll want to see in theaters with an audience. But if you’d rather wait to watch it at home, then read on to find out when and where you’ll be able to watch I Love Boosters on streaming.
I Love Boosters will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. in theaters on Friday, May 22. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. I Love Boosters is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
I Love Boosters is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Neon release, and most Neon movies stream on Hulu, not Netflix, thanks to the Neon and Hulu output deal. I Love Boosters will be available to buy or rent on Amazon Prime after the movie is released on digital, but it will not be available to stream for free with a Prime subscription any time soon, because it is not a Prime original.
If you want to watch I Love Boosters movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Hulu.
If you’re new to Hulu, you can get started with a 30-day free trial on the streamer’s basic (with ads) plan. After the trial period, you’ll pay $10.99/month. If you want to upgrade to Hulu ad-free, it costs $18.99/month.
If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the Disney+ Bundles, all of which include Hulu. These bundles start at $12.99/month for ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu and goes up to $32.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max, all ad-free.
You’ll likely see I Love Boosters streaming on Hulu sometime in the next three-to-six months. (Provided the Hulu app isn’t phased out before then.)
The I Love Boosters Hulu release date has not yet been announced, but we can make an educated guess based on previous Neon releases on Hulu. Another Neon movie, No Other Choice, began streaming on Hulu about four months after it opened in theaters. If I Love Boosters follows a similar release pattern, you may see I Love Boosters on Hulu around late September 2026.
On the other hand, another Neon release, It Lives Inside, began streaming on Hulu just three months after opening in theaters—so it’s not a hard and fast rule.
It’s all speculation right now. If you want to see the I Love Boosters movie ASAP, your best bet is to see it in theaters.
