Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested in Wisconsin on domestic abuse and other charges, according to a press release from the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.

Hobart-Lawrence officers were dispatched to a “disturbance complaint” involving Jacobs on Saturday morning. Jacobs turned himself in to authorities, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, and was booked into Brown County Jail on five charges: battery/domestic abuse, criminal damage to property/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” the press release read. “No further information will be released at this time.”

The Packers said the team is “aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment.”

Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, released a statement saying the running back is denying the claims against him.

“Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public,” the statement read. “We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.”

The NFL released its own statement, saying it is “aware of the report and has been in contact with the club.”

Jacobs, 28, is entering his eighth NFL season.

After being drafted 24th overall by the Raiders in 2019 and spending the first five seasons of his career with the franchise, Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million contract with Green Bay before the 2024 season.

Jacobs, a three-time Pro Bowler, ran for 929 yards and scored 14 total touchdowns across 15 games last season.

He will be subject to the league’s personal conduct policy and could face discipline.
