Draft US-Iran deal leaves regime in ‘stronger strategic p...

The purported draft agreement between the US and Iran aimed at ending the war will leave the rogue Islamic Republic in a stronger strategic position after the conflict is over, according to a nonpartisan think tank.

President Trump and Vice President JD Vance maintain that the prematurely circulating details of the 14-point memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the sides is only a draft and subject to change.

However if true, the version currently making the rounds “grants Iran significant economic relief,” which the regime would “likely” use to attempt to restart its missile, drone and nuclear programs, as well as the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance” military coalition, according to the Institute for the Study of War’s reading of the draft agreement.

The institute points out that Iran could receive additional economic relief by honoring the terms of the MOU, but says it’s seen no indication the regime is willing to make any concessions about their nuclear program that would likely be included in the final agreement.

ISW voiced concerns about “ambiguous language” about the Strait of Hormuz in the draft, writing that Iran will likely seek to exploit the lack of clarity “to try to enforce its control over shipping through the strait.”

KEY TAKEAWAY: The leaked text of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, if accurate, indicates that Iran has emerged from the conflict in a stronger strategic position. ⬇️🧵(1/7) https://t.co/qusT6n7TUl

It also surmised that the regime is interpreting the phrasing “on all fronts” in a clause about a cease-fire deal to bind Israel to halt its military campaign against Hezbollah and withdraw from Lebanon.

“This interpretation is part of a broader Iranian effort to preserve Hezbollah by trying to secure Israel’s capitulation in Lebanon,” ISW writes.
