Abner Uribe is going to pay the price for his excessive celebration.

The Brewers reliever was suspended one game for his crotch-chop directed toward the Cardinals’ visiting dugout during a win on Tuesday night, MLB announced.

He was also fined an undisclosed amount by the league.

Uribe is appealing the suspension, meaning he is available to pitch Friday night against the Astros.

The righty reliever closed out the eighth inning of Tuesday’s 6-0 win with a strikeout of Alec Burleson before turning toward the third base dugout to chop three times.

Uribe said after the game that he owed his team an apology but acted in such a way because he believed Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol had signaled for Cardinals pitchers to plunk Brewers hitters earlier in the series.

Marmol, on Wednesday, denied those allegations. He did say after videos surfaced that showed him pointing at his ribs while Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich was at the plate late in Monday’s game that he believed Milwaukee was stealing signs from St. Louis.

“I’ve got no issues telling you the full story,” Marmol said, per MLB.com. “I just think with anything these days, it gets blown up. This is like an everyday occurrence, but happy to talk about it.

“We felt like they were being pretty demonstrative about relaying from the dugout. I looked over, I said ‘Hey, don’t do it. Be smart. You’re going to get somebody hurt. Like, what are we trying to do here?’”

Yelich, for his part, said the Brewers “addressed” Uribe’s act and added that “we can hopefully move on.”

Brewers manager Pat Murphy, on Tuesday night, called Uribe’s chopping “unacceptable.”

“I love the kid. Believe me, I love the kid,” Murphy said. “There’s so much good in this kid. He’s been so great for us in so many ways, but that’s unacceptable. So, whatever’s going on, you can’t tolerate that. For his teammates, and for everything, it’s not going to be tolerated, that’s all there is to it.”
