A new Yellowstone spin-off means a new group of colorful characters, and after Dutton Ranch‘s two-episode premiere on Friday, May 15, fans will want to know all about the fresh faces in the Sheridan-verse.

Dutton Ranch sees Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Finn Little reprise their beloved roles as Rip Wheeler, Beth Dutton, and Carter. But the Texas-set series also welcomes a stacked cast that includes Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, and more.

After watching the first two episodes of Dutton Ranch — now streaming on Paramount+ and airing on Paramount Network at 8:00 p.m. ET — we have a feeling viewers will be especially intrigued by one of the younger characters on the series, Oreana, and eager to learn more about actor Natalie Alyn Lind.

Who Is Oreana on Dutton Ranch?

Dutton Ranch doesn’t introduce Oreana until the end of Episode 1, but she makes quite the entrance. As a heartbroken Carter is walking through the parking lot of the rodeo, he sees Oreana fighting with her boyfriend. Though Carter doesn’t know either of them, he intervenes and starts punching the guy to protect Oreana.

Carter was just coming out of an embarrassing situation where his school crush used him to buy her and her friends beer and then ditched him, so when he found a chance to release his frustrations, he really let loose. A sheriff found him mid-fight and arrested him, but before he even had to alert Beth or Rip, a grateful Oreana bailed him out.

“I know Sheriff Wade. I just told him that you saved me,” Oreana told Carter. She asked for his name, introduced herself, and the sparks started to fly. In Episode 2, Oreana picked Carter up at school and the two spent the day together drinking beer, shooting at bottles, and having deep chats about life.

Oreana learned a bit about Carter’s past and made it clear she liked his air of mystery. She also offered him some friendly Texas advice: “Nobody’s gonna make it easy for you. You gotta do that yourself… just say fuck it!” It’s clear that Carter’s been smitten over Oreana since he laid eyes on her, but at the end of Episode 2 when he asks when he can see her again, she replies, “I have a boyfriend, Carter,” and drives away leaving him brokenhearted again.

Before Episode 2 concludes, we learn that Oreana is also a Jackson, specifically the daughter of Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) and granddaughter of Beulah Jackson (Benning), who she prays she never becomes like. Considering Beulah and Beth already have beef, if Oreana and Carter ever do become more than friends, I have to imagine it will turn into a whole ordeal. So we’re seated!

Who Plays Oreana on Dutton Ranch? Meet Natalie Alyn Lind

While we wait to learn more about Oreana, let’s learn more about Natalie Alyn Lind, the 25-year-old actor who plays her. Natalie’s sisters, Alyvia Alyn Lind and Emily Alyn Lind, are also actors. And their parents, producer John Lind and actor Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb on One Tree Hill, girlfriend of Kelsey Anderson’s silver fox Golden Bachelorette dad Mark Anderson) are longtime figures in the industry.

Natalie kickstarted her on-screen career with an appearance on One Tree Hill in 20016 and has since starred in a variety of TV shows and movies including Criminal Minds, Wizards of Waverly Place, Gotham, Chicago Fire, The Gifdted, Tell Me a Story, The Goldbergs, Sugar, and more.
