Kendall Jenner is statuesque — literally.

Hitting the iconic stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jenner posed on the Met Gala 2026 red carpet wearing a draped custom GapStudio by Zac Posen gown, fashioned around her curves.

The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Costume Art,” and the dress code is “Fashion Is Art” — which Jenner took quite literally.

In fact, it channeled one statue in particular: the Greek Winged Victory of Samothrace that stoically flies at the top of the Daru staircase at the Louve in Paris.

In a press release from the brand, they share, “Jenner’s look transforms the Gap white T-shirt into a sculptural statement,” adding that “the look explores the interplay of strength, femininity, and freedom through movement and form.”

Designer Posen continues, “The look started with a white T-shirt and evolved through draping and manipulation into something sculptural and alive, shaped by movement, with a sense of fluidity and wind that echoes the sea-swept energy of the sculpture.”

Jenner kept her jewelry to a minimum, wearing pieces from Italian design house Buccellati, including pearl drop earrings, a pearl and diamond pendant necklace, tied at the back, pearl ring and gold and ruby bangle bracelet.

Posen also walked part of the red carpet with the model, himself wearing an iconic Gap denim trucker jacket, painted with gold to mimic muscles on a Greek or Roman sculpture’s torso.

While walking the iconic stairs, Posen shared that he wrote Jenner a letter asking if he could dress her, continuing that “she wanted to be a winged goddess” and that he began his process by taking a Gap white tee off his own back and twisting and torquing the everyday item.

According to a press release from the Met, the show will examine “the centrality of the dressed body,” with curator Andrew Bolton adding that “‘Costume Art’ privileges its materiality and the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear.”

It’s a particularly fitting theme for Jenner, who has always been one to celebrate the marriage of fashion, art and the human body in her Met Gala looks over the past decade.

For 2023’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” ball, where celebrity guests looked to the late design legend’s tailored separates and Coco Chanel-inspired leisurewear, the model wowed in a sequined and collared Marc Jacobs bodysuit styled sans pants.

2021’s “In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion”-themed gala saw Jenner wearing a sheer embellished Givenchy gown that made it appear as though her body was draped in diamond chains.
