Florida Home Depot manager arrested for allegedly dishing...

A Florida Home Depot manager was arrested on felony charges after allegedly dishing out $4.3 million in “unauthorized” discounts to repeat clients to boost his sales and get higher bonuses, according to an affidavit.

Mauricio Jimenez, 48, was arrested on April 21 and charged with organized fraud and first-degree grand theft for allegedly slashing the price of at least 4,500 transactions — totaling to $55 million — across various stores from Dec. 2023 to April 2026.

The Hialeah man’s “deliberate” and “systemic” tactics meant his sales were through the roof — and so were his bonuses, according to the affidavit, which did not provide a number.

“Those discounts cost the company over $4 million, and by increasing his sales using those discounts, he was compensated with larger bonuses,” Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer said at this April 22 court hearing, NBC Miami reported.

Home Depot launched a probe into Jimenez after its Assurance & Advisory Management Program noticed  a “high quality, high value, high markdown order” during a visit to a store in Hialeah Gardens, where he worked at the time, according to the arrest document.

Leadership then allegedly noticed that this appeared to be a pattern with Jimenez’s sales.

He reportedly abused his access to internal systems and adjusted prices on bulk orders from repeated, “core clients.”

Jimenez’s lawyer, Melissa Ramos, said he was not receiving any kickbacks or benefits from the alleged hustle.

Jimenez was released on $15,000 bond, but was ordered to stay away from Home Depot.

Home Depot and Ramos did not respond to requests for comment.
