She’s not judging these celebs by their book covers.

Rita Wilson is back on Broadway in “Celebrity Autobiography,” where a rotating cast of famous faces playfully reads excerpts from the memoirs of A-listers — and finds the funny in their words.

Wilson has met all the women whose tell-alls she’s spoofing — Elizabeth Taylor, Pamela Anderson and Celine Dion — and said she understands why they felt compelled to spill the tea in the pages of their life stories.

“In all of these people’s cases, there is and was a thirst to hear about their private lives,” she told The Post ahead of the show’s May 18 opening night.

“We cannot fault anyone for writing these books at a time in their lives where they were very young … and taking a huge paycheck and saying, ‘Sure, I’ll write my autobiography, what do you need?'”

The actress and singer, who is married to Tom Hanks, stressed that she’s in no way downplaying their talents by poking fun at their books.

“I’ve met all of them. And this does not take away any of the fandom I have for these people,” she said.

Wilson, 69, gushed over being in the presence of Taylor at a dinner in Hollywood hosted by a studio exec.

“Elizabeth Taylor, I actually had dinner with, which was one of the most incredible evenings of my life because she was so accessible and very much a woman who absolutely knew who she was and was incredibly authentic,” she said.

“She did not play the diva and she did not play the movie star. She was just an actor at dinner with other actors.”

She met Celine Dion backstage during the Grammy winner’s first residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas — and said she’s in awe of the strength she’s shown during her struggle with the rare neurological disorder, Stiff-person syndrome.

“She’s just an incredible woman in every way, also so courageous, so strong,” said Wilson, who just released her sixth studio album, “Sound of a Woman.”

“It was just so incredible what she’s going through and what she’s been through. I just love her.”

The Hollywood native met Anderson in Malibu “during her Kid Rock days.”

“She’s really nice. She’s smart, she’s brave and courageous. An amazing woman, an incredible mother, very sweet, very present,” she said.

Wilson, who shares a role in common with Anderson — since they both played Roxy Hart in “Chicago” on Broadway — respects the fact that the “Baywatch” actress has evolved from her sex symbol status.

“What I love about Pamela is that she hasn’t turned her back on who she was. But she’s a so much more fully integrated person than, sometimes what I think media creates about particularly women and who they are,” she said.

“And in her case, she’s a sex symbol, so that is very limiting. And I love that she’s become more fully herself in at least how we’re perceiving her in the world.”

“Celebrity Autobiography,” whose cast includes notable names from Gayle King to Ralph Macchio, was off-Broadway at the Triad Theater before getting promoted to the Great White Way — and will be running at the Shubert Theatre until Aug. 16.

Wilson herself has never written a memoir — and doesn’t have any plans to.

“Oh, no, I probably would not,” she said, laughing. “I’m a very private person in a very public profession.”
