Before starring in “Emily in Paris,” the beloved French actor appeared in more than 500 episodes of soap opera “Demain nous appartient.”
His longtime co-star Luce Mouchel shared a touching tribute on Instagram on Tuesday, reflecting on their “short decade of shared life that should not have ended so quickly and so brutally.”
She wrote in French, “I’m thinking of your daughters and their exceptional courage. Thinking of you, my last visit and your sparkling eyes, rest in peace, Dr. Dumaze 🤍🤍🤍.”
Deny was also well known for his roles in several other French series, including “Fabio Montale,” “Une femme d’honneur” and “Cinq soeurs.”
ALS is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, per the Mayo Clinic. The disease leads to muscle weakness and other symptoms that get worse over time and currently has no cure.
Several celebrities have recently gone public with their ALS battles, with “90 Day Fiancé” star Jenny Slatten sharing her diagnosis last week.
“Grey’s Anatomy” actor Eric Dane passed away in February, 10 months after announcing his own diagnosis.
