Britney Spears will avoid any additional jail time in her DUI case, after striking a plea deal to the March arrest.

Spears was not in court Monday, but was represented by her legal team.

The singer’s lawyers entered a guilty plea on her behalf to reckless driving involving alcohol and drugs. Spears was sentenced to 12 months probation, a three month alcohol program and fined $571 by a judge.

She’s also ordered to submit to search and seizure of her vehicle when needed and can only be in possession of drugs with a valid prescription.

It was also revealed that Spears will continue mental health treatment which includes seeing a psychiatrist twice a month and a psychologist once a week, according to the court proceedings.

When Spears attorney Michael Goldstein was asked by The California Post how his client was doing he responded “My clients is doing well, thank you for asking I appreciate that.” He went on to say “We appreciate the district attorney recognizing the positive steps Britney has taken to help herself and we expect she will continue to do so.”

Ventura County District Attorney, Erik Nasarenko also weighed in moments after the proceeding pointing to Spears treatment, “When somebody ahead of their plea voluntarily decides to admit themselves into a rehabilitation facility, that demonstrates to us that they have a sincere interest in getting better,” he said.

He also made it clear that nobody is above the law. “Bottom line, whether you are a famous singer or a school teacher, we want the same thing for each and every first-time misdemeanant offender in Ventura County. That they continue to be a law-abiding citizen who understands that driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs is extremely dangerous.”

It was announced a few weeks ago that Spears was going to be in rehab, though she’s been out in public.

Dispatch audio revealed Spears was swerving and speeding before the DUI arrest.

“Black BMW sedan in and out of lanes… speeding,” the dispatcher said during the pursuit. “2026 convertible out of LA.” “Can we send all units down towards this area, please?” an officer says in the audio, as units were heard following the vehicle and detailing the exact location.

Spears, 44, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County, Calif., after exiting the 101 freeway around 9:28 p.m.
