Hoppers is hip-hopping onto digital platforms today, which means if you missed the latest Pixar movie in theaters, now is your chance to watch the movie at home.
Directed by Daniel Chong, with a screenplay written by Jesse Andrews, Hoppers explores a concept that I, personally, was obsessed with as a child: What if we could see through the eyes of an animal? Teenager Mabel Tanaka (voiced by Piper Curda) has a special connection to the natural world—so special, in fact, that when she discovers there’s a technology that allows her mind to inhabit the robotic body of a life-like beaver, she jumps at the chance. Through this technology, she’s able to communicate with the beaver community and live among them. Truly, this was my 9-year-old self’s dream.
Other voice actors in the Hoppers cast include Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Kathy Najimy, and Dave Franco. The movie was well-liked by critics, with many praising it as a return to form for Pixar. But before you drop $30 to watch a movie at home, read on to find out what we know about when Hoppers will be on Disney+, free to Disney+ subscribers.
Beginning on Tuesday, April 28 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also April 27 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time), Hoppers will be available to buy digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie costs $29.99 to buy, and $24.99 to rent.
Hoppers will also be released on DVD and 4K Blu-ray™ on June 2, 2026. The physical and digital release will come with bonus features including deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes, though digital bonus features may vary, depending on which retailer you use to buy the film.
Hoppers is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but because it is a Disney movie, we do expect to see Hoppers streaming on Disney+ soon.
You might see Hoppers streaming on Disney+ in a little over a month’s time, around the first week of June.
Disney+ offers a number of subscription options, so you can find the one that works for you. With ads, a subscription costs $10.99/month; without ads, it’s $18.99/month or $189.99/year.
There are also Disney+ bundles with Hulu, HBO Max, and ESPN+, so you can subscribe to up to three services at once and save over 40% every month. The bundles are available in a few different configurations, starting at $12.99/month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, and going up to $32.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max ad-free.
Hoppers will likely stream on Disney+ in the next month-and-a-half, because it is a Disney movie. All the new Disney theatrical movies end up streaming on Disney+, often about three to six months after opening in theaters.
Another recent Disney movie, Zootopia 2, was released on premium video-on-demand about two months after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Disney+ about three months after opening in theaters. If Hoppers follows a similar release strategy, you may see Hoppers streaming on Disney+ around the same time it is released on DVD, aka the first week of June 2026.
That said, the Hoppers streaming release date on Disney+ has not yet officially been announced. This is all guesswork, so take it with a grain of salt. For now, if you want to watch Hoppers at home, you can buy or rent a digital copy of the movie.
