Every Year After, the long anticipated adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel Every Summer After, is now streaming on Prime Video. The show, which follows the relationship between Percy (Sadie Soverall) and her childhood friend turned lover Sam (Matt Cornett). The series takes place over several summers, as Percy and Sam grow from friends to lovers, and later having a falling out. The true turn in their relationship happens when Percy does something that pushes them apart for years, until their reunited. But perhaps the real issue isn’t what, but rather who Percy did.

Sam’s brother Charlie (Michael Bradway) is a prominent character in the series. Serving not only as a catalyst figure in Sam and Percy’s relationship, but also having his own whirlwind of a romance with Delilah (Abigail Cowen), Percy’s childhood bestfriend turned frenemy.

The show is told in both present tense and flashbacks, pulling the veiwers into the characters’ lives. If you started watching Every Summer After, you probably squinted at the tv during the flashbacks and said, “who is that kid,” when young Charlie came on screen, and it’s not unwarranted. Carson MacCormac (@carson_maccormac on Instagram), is not an unfamiliar face to some. The Canadian actor transitioned to film and TV after starting his acting career in theatre. MacCormac has been in numerous projects, including My Life With the Walter Boys on Netflix. He is also known for his roles in movies Clown in a Cornfield, Shazam! and its sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods. He also was featured in a few episodes of Netflix’s Locke & Key as Benjamin Locke.
