Norway’s “Viking Row” celebration has taken the internet by storm as the World Cup continues heating up. Now, the celebration has invaded stadiums.

Following their 3-2 group stage victory over Senegal on Monday, fans of Norway’s national team performed the celebration in unison, with chants echoing around MetLife Stadium’s sellout crowd of 80,663.

The players themselves joined in on the fun after their win, sitting on the field in formation and partaking in the chants. Star striker Erling Haaland, who scored twice in the victory, was front and center. Captain Martin Ødegaard didn’t row as he banged a drum to lead the chants, much to the glee of the red-clad crowd.

However, one Norwegian fan didn’t seem to enjoy the celebration, remaining seated and stone-faced as seemingly every other person in the stadium joined in on the fun.

The viral celebration has been spreading everywhere the Norwegian fans go. There was one display in Times Square this week in the leadup to the match in New Jersey. Supporters have even taken to the New York subway system to show their love to the Norwegian national team.

Fan Ole Froystad, nicknamed “Mr. Row Row,” claims he helped start the Viking Row.

“A thousand years ago, the Vikings rowed…it’s about rowing for the team, making sure that we get the team to feel good on the pitch, make them perform the way that they should, and just support them in every way we can.”

Haaland, who is right in the thick of the Golden Boot race having scored four goals across Norway’s first two matches, is a fan of the celebration.

“Martin [Ødegaard] asked me before the game, ‘Do you think we should join in?’ I said, ‘If we win, let’s do it, why not?’” Haaland told reporters.

The celebration certainly isn’t hurting the Norwegians’ performance. They’ve won their first two group stage matches and will face France in a highly-anticipated match Friday in Foxborough for first place in Group I.
