The Issue: President Trump says US-Iran peace is close, despite Tehran’s refusal to hand over its uranium.

I like President Trump and thought he started out with the right strategy for Iran (“Don: ‘O,’ I won’t make a bad deal,” May 25).

I also thought the two-week cease-fire was prudent.

It gave America time to rearm, rest our pilots and bring in a third carrier battle group.

However, after six weeks of letting Iran stall, rearm and dig out military assets, there is still no deal.

This is starting to look to me like Neville Chamberlain’s “Peace in our time.”

One must be delusional to believe terrorist murderers can be dealt with through diplomacy or that they would honor any deal they “agree” to.

It is time to end the stall and turn our carriers into the wind.

Iran being prostrate offers a fleeting opportunity to end the evil regime’s near half-century deadly threat to its people, region and the world.

It can’t be trusted to abide by any agreement.

If allowed to survive, with its new exhibited ability to control the Strait of Hormuz, Iran would pose great dangers.

Trump promised Iranians that “help is on the way.”

Now is not the time to turn back.

The end must soon be near!

Trump exercised his very considerable skill set, backed by his irrefutable triumphs, and brought Tehran to the negotiating table.

One false move on Tehran’s part and Tehran’s bridges and power plants really will be wiped out.

Our “president of peace” is giving them one more chance.

I pray the American people and elected officials will follow suit.

There should be no sanctions relief, postponement of nuke negotiations or opening of the strait before enriched uranium is removed from Iran.

Iran will never release the nuke dust if its income is increasing.

The Issue: Disney’s petition asking the FCC to classify “The View” as a legitimate news program.

The Federal Communications Commission is asking for public comment concerning re-listing “The View” as a certified news presentation (“Disney’s fantasy,” May 24).

If Disney labels it as a news program, we should go all the way and also list “Saturday Night Live” as a news show and appoint the Onion as the official national newspaper.

Just what kind of news does “The View” broadcast?

Hatred, lies, misinformation?

Certainly nothing of interest for the general public.

Why ABC doesn’t cancel it is beyond any reasoning.

I truly believe the producers fear Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.

Almost 30 years ago, when Barbara Walters started a show where women of different views could talk, she wasn’t setting up a news program.

There would be only spontaneous conversation and personal opinions of hosts and guests.

The only thing newsworthy about “The View” is the drama of its heated exchanges, arguments and explosive disputes.

A bona fide news show shouldn’t have “view” in its title unless it is called “Our View, and Only Our View.”
