David Beckham's star-studded Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony brings out Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria and more
Eric Todisco, Bernie Zilio · 2026-06-13 · via New York Post

He’s so Hollywood.

David Beckham — widely regarded as one of the most accomplished soccer players of his generation — got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, with wife Victoria Beckham and pal Tom Cruise serving as guest speakers.

Cruise, a fellow Walk of Famer, spoke first, highlighting David’s impressive career.

“Long before the trophies, the sold-out stadiums, the global fame, the recognition, there was a young boy with a dream. And the determination and discipline to earn everything that followed,” the actor said at the podium.

“That’s why this feels like such a fitting place for us to celebrate him. His is a Hollywood story. A boy who believed in something bigger than himself, had to work for every opportunity he received and went on to influence his sport, shape culture around the world and create opportunity opportunities for generations who followed.

“And for all the records, achievements and recognition, the thing that has impressed me most is that success has never changed who he is. The same core values that got him there are the ones he lives by today.”

After shouting out Victoria and the “beautiful family” the longtime couple created, Cruise concluded, “You earned this, and nobody — and I mean nobody — deserves it more, my friend.”

Victoria, for her part, began her speech with a joke.

“Growing up in England, the Hollywood Walk of Fame was one of those iconic things that you only saw in films — a way of immortalizing people who had succeeded in their fields and truly left their mark. So naturally, I assumed I was coming here today to receive my star for my part in that iconic cult classic ‘Spice World: The Movie.'”

She went on to praise her husband’s “vision,” “determination” and “extraordinary amount of hard work,” as he undeniably helped elevate the global popularity of soccer through both his on-field success and international influence.

“Most of you will know David as a sportsman, a businessman and an activist, but behind those titles is a man who has always been defined by his character. His drive, his determination and his ambition are known to everyone, but I’d also like to acknowledge his kindness, his loyalty and his commitment to the people that he loves,” the pop star-turned-fashion designer gushed.

David and Victoria’s longtime friend, actress Eva Longoria, was also present.

Additionally, David had support from his and Victoria’s kids — sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, as well as daughter Harper, 14 — while their estranged son, 27-year-old Brooklyn, and daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, 31, skipped the Los Angeles event despite living only 20 minutes away.

Page Six confirmed Wednesday that Brooklyn and Peltz would not be at David’s star ceremony.

One source told us that even if Brooklyn — who unleashed on his parents in a bitter Instagram rant in January — did want to reconcile, his wife would stand in the way.

Another insider familiar with the rift said the hot sauce entrepreneur is the driving force behind his decision to cut his parents and siblings out of his life.

Brooklyn and Peltz have not seen his family since Christmas 2024. They notably skipped David’s 50th birthday celebration in London last May.

In an interview with Variety ahead of Friday’s ceremony, David shut down a question about the “strife” among the Beckham unit.

“To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter,” he replied. “That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.”

At the beginning of the wide-ranging interview, David spoke about the honor of getting his Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

“I actually can’t believe it,” he marveled. “I remember walking in Hollywood and looking for the stars, and all these years later, knowing that I’ll have my own star, it’s a huge honor. America has always meant so much to me.”

The UK native explained that “all he cared about” growing up was becoming a successful soccer player, insisting he “didn’t care about the fame, the wealth, all the admiration” that came with it.

“So now, having a star, becoming a ‘sir,’ all these things that have come with the career that I’ve had, I feel very lucky,” David added, referring to being knighted by King Charles III last year.

Elsewhere in the sit-down, David claimed he’s “never really had any offers” to act in Hollywood, though he noted he prefers to “stay in [his] lane.”

The father of four also shared that he’s been pushing Victoria to perform again with the rest of the Spice Girls, who reportedly canceled their planned 30th anniversary reunion in March.

“I think they’re all doing their own thing and are busy,” David said, “but I’m always hoping for the girls to get back together and perform at some point.”
