Ryan Wohl breaks down his best bet for Jarrell Miller vs. Lenier Pero, which is the Main Event of tonight’s Matchroom Boxing card.
Jarrell Miller takes on Lenier Pero in a high-stakes heavyweight bout today in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a WBA Title Eliminator with the winner being the mandatory challenger for Usyk’s WBA Championship. This fight is the Main Event of today’s Matchroom Boxing card, promoted by Eddie Hearn.
Check out my best bet for Jarrell Miller vs. Lenier Pero below.
Pero has the edge on paper, as he is taller (6’4.5″ vs. 6’4″) and has a longer reach (79″ vs. 78″). He has a perfect record of 13-0 with eight victories by knockout. In 2025, Pero won two fights by unanimous decision against Jordan Thompson and Detrailous Webster. On BoxRec, Miller is ranked No. 28, and Pero is No. 49 in the Heavyweight division.
Miller has a record of 27-1-2 with 22 knockouts and last beat Kingsley Ibeh by split decision at Madison Square Garden in January. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Miller is a -145 favorite with Pero being a +115 underdog.
On Friday, both fighters successfully weighed in for their contest. Miller hit the scale at 305 pounds, while Pero was 251.4, a massive 53.6-pound difference. In Miller’s last fight against Ibeh, he weighed 317.5 pounds. Meanwhile, Pero is nine pounds heavier from his last appearance. I think Miller’s experience and the weight gap will give him the advantage in this contest. Pero has only fought one fighter over 300 pounds in his career, but that was Donnie Palmer, who isn’t on Miller’s level.
