Brendan O’Sullivan dives into his pick and prediction for the Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles game on Sunday, April 26.
The Red Sox and Orioles play the final game of their three-game series on Sunday, April 26.
Baltimore is a -143 moneyline favorite, while Boston is +119 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at over/under 7.5 runs.
Let’s get into a pick and prediction for this Red Sox vs. Orioles game.
Saturday was supposed to be a battle of two struggling aces. Well, one ace showed up as Garrett Crochet pitched six scoreless frames. Tyler Rogers lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing three earned runs and four hits. Rogers wasn’t the main problem, however. Baltimore’s bullpen is what put the game out of reach.
The Red Sox led 7-1 entering the ninth inning and proceeded to score 10 more runs. A 17-1 victory capped off the second game and evened the series at 1-1. Both of the first two games were high-scoring blowouts, so let’s see what’s in store for the series finale.
Boston’s victory on Saturday broke a four-game losing streak. The team has struggled this season, holding a 10-17 record with just two series wins. To make matters worse, or perhaps better depending on how you view it, the Red Sox fired manager Alex Cora.
Sunday begins a new era, one that starts with a one-game win streak. Connelly Early is on the mound for Boston in his second professional season. After just four starts last season, Early is making his sixth start in 2026 with a 2.88 ERA. He’s allowed at least one earned run but no more than three earned runs in all his starts.
Baltimore’s offense is the x-factor as it had scored 10, eight, five and seven in four straight. Then, it scored just one run on Saturday. If the lineup is quiet again, the Red Sox will rack up hits off of Kyle Bradish, who has allowed six or more hits in four straight starts.
Sometimes firing the manager is what a team needs to fix itself. It may not fix all of Boston’s troubles, but it should give the team a jumpstart immediately. Boston is the underdog, but it should win another series here.
