Ciaran Doyle gives his best bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham.
The Premier League continues on Tuesday as Tottenham travel to take on Chelsea in a game that sees 10th place take on 17th.
Chelsea are +105 favorites on the moneyline for this one on DraftKings Sportsbook, with a draw available at +270. Fancy a Tottenham upset? Spurs are +255 to pick up three points.
This is essentially the “Battle of the Bridge” 2.0. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to 2016, where Chelsea hosted Tottenham who were fighting for the league title at the end of the season. Eden Hazard scored a famous goal in a game that finished in a 2-2 draw, and ultimately cost Tottenham the trophy and gave it to Leicester City.
This game has similar implications, but for relegation. A Chelsea win would mean that the relegation battle goes down to the final day. A Tottenham win guarantees survival. A draw would also keep Spurs up, as they would be three points clear of West Ham with a better goal difference by a margin of 13. Crazier things have happened, but a draw essentially guarantees survival for Spurs. West Ham need Tottenham to lose each of their last two games and for them to win on the final day to stay up.
Chelsea can still qualify for a European place, although it will likely be in the Europa or Conference League. It’s still better than nothing, but their main motivation in this one will be to put their rivals one step closer to the Championship.
Spurs have seen a slight improvement under Roberto De Zerbi, as they are unbeaten in four straight games. Chelsea are in awful form right now, but there’s also a reason they are seven spots higher in the table and have 11 more points.
Chelsea have dominated this fixture recently, winning each of the last five fixtures between the teams. In terms of games at Stamford Bridge, they’ve won four of the last five and drawn one.
It might not be enough to send them down, but expect the Blues to show up and do their best to put their rivals in an uncomfortable situation heading into the final day.
