Edwards has been dealing with a nagging knee injury for the last few weeks — but you would have no idea based on his numbers so far in this series against the Nuggets. He scored 49.2 FPTS across 38 minutes in Game 1 before posting 53.5 FPTS over 40 minutes in Game 2.
While Edwards has shot just 39% in the playoffs, he’s been extremely active on the glass, grabbing at least nine rebounds in each contest. He has also made an impact on the defensive end, with three blocks in Game 1 and two blocks and a steal in Game 2.
This season, Edwards has led the Timberwolves with 1.3 FPTS per minute and a 32% usage rate. He’s also averaging 51.6 FPTS across five games with the Nuggets this season. Back on his home floor and at this discounted salary, Edwards is a must-play for Game 3 on Thursday. Just a few weeks ago, Edwards was priced up to $9,600 on DraftKings.
Just like Edwards, Mitchell’s salary is inexcusably low tonight at $8,700. Just last month, the guard’s salary on DraftKings reached $9,800. Mitchell has been on a tear, scoring at least 45 FPTS in four straight contests. In Monday’s Game 2 win over the Raptors, he finished with 49.8 FPTS in 37 minutes, while shooting 13-of-23 from the field.
Mitchell is leading the Cavaliers with 1.4 FPTS per minute and a 32% usage rate this season. He has also scored at least 45 FPTS in three of his four matchups with Toronto. Cleveland is only favored by 2.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook for Game 3, and Mitchell should surpass his value with ease in this potential nail-biter.
The Timberwolves stole Game 2 in Denver on Monday, and Reid logged 24.2 FPTS in 27 minutes off the bench. Still, the big man’s salary has dropped to a season-low $4,600 on DraftKings. There isn’t much logic to this, and Reid is a value play that must be rostered.
The former Sixth Man of the Year spent most of the season priced around $6,000, and he has scored at least 24 FPST in six of his last 10 games. That includes three outings north of 30 FPTS. Reid is generating 1.1 FPTS per minute with a 22% usage rate, and he’s averaging 26 FPTS across six games with Denver this season.
Bench players tend to play better at home, and Reid is no exception. His fantasy output climbs nearly 3.0 FPTS per game when playing at Target Center. The Timberwolves are 2.5-point underdogs for Game 3 on DraftKings Sportsbook, and Reid has averaged 32 FPTS over five games as a home underdog this season.
