Ciaran Doyle gives his best bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s FIFA World Cup match between Austria and Jordan.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup has finally arrived, and the second match of Group J will feature Austria and Jordan.
Let’s dive into my favorite bet for this match.
Austria enters the World Cup ranked 24th in the FIFA rankings, while Jordan comes in at 64th in the world.
Marko Arnautovic hasn’t been scoring for fun in club soccer in the last few years, but when he plays for his country, he usually finds the back of the net. The former Inter Milan striker has 128 career club goals, but now plays for Red Star Belgrade. His eight goals in only seven appearances led Austria to top their group in UEFA qualifying. In fact, only Erling Haaland scored more goals in Europe than Arnautovic during qualifying.
He’s already established himself as the best player in the country’s history, but the 2026 World Cup presents a chance to build on his legacy. He has the most caps out of any Austrian player with 133, and has scored more goals than any player in Austrian history with 47. His 0.35 goal ratio per game is elite considering how many times he has suited up for his country. Arnautovic is just missing a World Cup goal to add to his resume. Austria hasn’t made the World Cup since 1998, so this might be his only shot at it.
I fully expect him to deliver, and this would be the perfect game for it against arguably the weakest team in the group, Jordan.
