Thursday’s slate features a full schedule of games, highlighted by Gerrit Cole making his long-awaited return for the Yankees, Kevin Gausman continuing his strong stretch for Toronto, and Spencer Arrighetti looking to sustain his breakout run for Houston against the Cubs.
Arrighetti is a major regression candidate, with a 1.50 ERA and an xERA of 4.91. After allowing 24 home runs in 129.2 innings last season, Taillon has already allowed 16 through 50.2.
Williams currently owns the highest K/9 of his career at 10.7 through 61.1 innings. Sanchez is also in the same boat, while posting a career-high 11.1 K/9 through 64.1 innings.
Leahy is another regression candidate, owner of a 3.94 ERA with an xERA of 6.17 and a 4.94 FIP. In his Reds debut, Paddack allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts through five innings.
Flaherty continues to struggle with his command with a 5.9 BB/9. Bassitt has allowed at least four earned runs in five of his eight starts this season.
In his prior start against the Yankees, Martinez allowed only one run on five hits with four strikeouts through 4.2 innings. Cole will be making his first major league start since September 26, 2024, after recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Chandler has walked at least four batters in five of his nine starts this season. Gausman tossed six shutout innings in his last start against the Tigers with five strikeouts.
Since joining the rotation, Prielipp has a 2.88 ERA with an xERA of 3.06 and a 10.4 K/9. Tolle has a 2.05 ERA with an xERA of 2.44 and an 8.8 K/9 through 30.2 innings.
Peralta’s current 8.9 K/9 is the lowest of his career. Perez continues to struggle on the mound and has allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last five starts.
As a starter, Mikolas has an 8.28 ERA with a .376 wOBA and a 2.5 HR/9. Elder went a season-high eight innings in his last start against the Red Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Wrobleski has been very strong against righties with a .233 wOBA, a 2.81 FIP, and zero home runs allowed. Through four starts, Henderson has a 3.50 ERA with an xERA of 2.94 and an 11.5 K/9.
Gilbert has been his best on the road, sporting a 1.59 ERA with a 2.11 FIP. Cameron has allowed at least three earned run in six straight starts.
deGrom has allowed at least four earned runs in two of his last three starts. In his season debut, Grayson allowed seven runs on seven hits through 3.2 innings against the Dodgers.
Buehler has been much better at home, sporting a 3.16 ERA with a .250 wOBA and a 3.50 FIP.
Sugano owns a 4.02 ERA with an xERA of 7.22 and a 5.49 FIP. Soroka currently owns a 10.1 K/9, the highest of his career.
Martin hasn’t allowed more than one earned run in six straight starts.
