After 30-plus minutes, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship in an instant classic. Reigns is now a seven-time WWE Champion.
Reigns and Punk both started the match slowly. But Punk gained an advantage early in the contest. Both of them were talking trash to each other during the match. But it wasn’t long until Reigns gained momentum. Reigns took the action outside the ring and was beating up Punk.
When Reigns and Punk returned to the ring, it was a slugfest. Each time Punk hurt Reigns, the challenger fought back. Reigns went for a spear, but Punk hit him with his signature running knee. After Reigns tied Punk up on the ropes, he was unloading Superman punches. Then Reigns hit Punk with the steel stairs, which busted open Punk’s forehead.
Punk hit Reigns with a Go to Sleep, but Reigns kicked out. Reigns responded with a spear, but it wasn’t enough. Both competitors tried each other’s finishers, but neither worked. Nearly 30 minutes into the match, Punk and Reigns went toe-to-toe with neither giving the other an inch. Punk hit Reigns with a low blow and hit him with a GTS, but Reigns kicked out. Punk went to the top rope and jumped onto Reigns on the table.
We saw the most aggressive version of Reigns in many years. This was a fantastic match, and Punk and Reigns both delivered.
There was a live musical performance for Roman Reigns’ entrance. They displayed the Bloodline legends on the screen before he came out.
Then, the defending champion CM Punk came out last.
The Miz came out, and Danhausen interrupted him. John Cena let Danhausen use his Five-Knuckle Shuffle, which created a great moment.
As the host of WrestleMania 42, John Cena announced tonight’s attendance of 55,255. The overall attendance over the two nights of WrestleMania 42 is 106,072.
Rhea Ripley won her fourth WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill. Ripley is now 4-3 at WrestleMania in her career.
Cargill and Ripley were aggressive at the start of the match. Although Cargill might have had the power advantage, Ripley made up for it with her quickness. It was a one-sided contest throughout the first few minutes.
During this match, Cargill has displayed an improved skill set. Michin and B-Fab, who have been by Cargill’s side, came out to help her. Then Iyo Sky came out to help even the odds for her friend.

The Demon Finn Balor beat Dominik Mysterio after him with a Coup De Grace through a table. Mysterio is now 1-4 at WrestleMania while Balor is 2-4 at the event.
When Balor is the Demon, it isn’t just a different outfit with paint all over his body. He transforms his style in the ring as well.
It took a few minutes, but Mysterio eventually got offense in of his own on Balor. This contest was so fast-paced, with Mysterio and Balor going back and forth. Since it was a Street Fight, chairs and kendo sticks were involved. Mysterio put Balor through a table, then used chairs. Once Balor returned to his feet, he was beating down Mysterio.

With a Trick Shot, Trick Williams beat Sami Zayn to win the United States Championship. This was Williams’ first WrestleMania match.
Sami Zayn took the fight to Trick Williams at the start of this match, and boos began to rain down in Vegas. Lil Yachty was by Williams’ side in this match, but Zayn beat him up outside the ring. Zayn was brutalizing Williams, and the challenger was down and out. Both wrestlers exchanged multiple false finishes.

After a hard-hitting, brutal ladder match, Penta climbed the ladder to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
As soon as this match started, chaos broke out among all the competitors. Rusev displayed his power advantage at the beginning of this match.
The athleticism that was shown in his match was unbelievable. Penta and Rey Mysterio teamed up, putting Rusev through a ladder. After coming off an injury, Mysterio has had an impressive showing.
The crowd at Allegiant Stadium was loving this match. Penta hit McDonagh with a Mexican Destroyer through a ladder. Evans hit Rusev with an OG Cutter to take him out.
After his loss to Oba Femi, Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves and has seemingly retired.
Oba Femi picked up the victory against Brock Lesnar in the opening match of Sunday’s WrestleMania 42 card. Lesnar is now 6-7 at WrestleMania.
Lesnar and Femi tied up to start the match. Both wrestlers were trying to gain the upper hand at the start. Femi put Lesnar down first, but he kept getting back up. The crowd was on Femi’s side from the beginning of the match.
Lesnar seemed frustrated as he was struggling. Once the action shifted outside the ring, it favored Lesnar. Lesnar took Femi to Suplex City when he brought him back in the ring.
It took longer than usual, but Lesnar began to break down Femi. But then Femi hit Lesnar with a chokeslam after taking an F5. Femi finished Lesnar with a powerbomb to win the match.
