Ryan Wohl details his best bet for the Super Middleweight Championship fight between Jose Resendiz vs. Jaime Munguia.
In the co-main event of tonight’s PBC boxing card, Jose Resendiz is defending his WBA Super Middleweight title against former title challenger Jaime Munguia. Resendiz is 16-2 with 11 knockouts, while Munguia has a record of 45-2 with 35 wins by knockout.
Check out my best bet for tonight’s fight between Jose Resendiz vs. Jaime Munguia.
After losing to Bruno Surace in December 2024, Munguia got back on track and beat Surace in their rematch five months later. He is 2-2 in his last four bouts, but one of the losses came against Canelo Alvarez.
Resendiz is coming off one of the most significant victories of his career against Caleb Plant in May 2025. He has won two straight and is 4-1 in his previous five contests. Munguia is taller (6’0″ vs. 5’10”) and has the reach advantage (72″ vs. 69″) in this fight.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Munguia is a -200 favorite while Resendiz is a +155 underdog. Resendiz is +270 to win by decision, while Munguia is +150 to win on the judges’ scorecards. Munguia hasn’t won back-to-back fights by decision since 2019. Seven of Munguia’s last 10 victories have come by knockout. I think he will enter this fight hungrier than before, as he knows he can’t be passive and beat an elite opponent. The longer the fight lasts, the more it benefits him, as he has experience in those situations.
