Zach Thompson gets you set for the Charles Schwab Challenge this week with his top fantasy golf cash game picks on DraftKings.
The PGA TOUR is back at Colonial Country Club this week, which has been the only host of this event, which is the longest-running non-major tournament on the PGA TOUR at the same location. The time-honored design requires accuracy off the tee and on approach, and it isn’t a course that players can typically overpower. As with every week on the PGA TOUR, DraftKings has a wide variety of contests and formats available. If you’re teeing it up with some conservative lineups designed for cash games, my three top fantasy golf cash plays to consider are Ludvig Aberg ($10,500), Ryo Hisatsune ($8,500) and Tony Finau ($7,700).
Make sure to also check out my top-three pivot plays for tournament lineups for the Charles Schwab Challenge, if you’re looking for some less popular, under-the-radar picks. Pivot plays for tournament lineups are usually more aggressive, while fantasy golf cash game picks are safer with higher floors and lower risk. The picks in this post generally have higher ownership than my pivot plays, but they are good selections for contests where the uniqueness of your lineup is less important. Think of cash game picks as lying back and playing a par 5 as it was designed, taking three shots before reaching the green, searching for a solid birdie. Tournament picks are like going driver off the deck to try to reach the green in two — more reward if it works, but much more risk, as well.

While he is the highest-priced player in the field, there’s enough of a strong case to be made for Aberg that he still makes sense as one of this week’s top fantasy golf cash plays. Unlike last week when Scottie Scheffler was over $14,000, Aberg is barely more than the other top players on the board, but he brings the most upside and the highest floor based on his very strong recent form.
Over the last three months, Aberg has led the field in Strokes Gained: Approach, Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, and Total Strokes Gained, and he also ranks fourth in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and seventh in Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green. He’s turned that excellent ball-striking into eight straight top-21 finishes, including his T5 with a near-miss at THE PLAYERS Championship, a T4 at the RBC Heritage in a Signature Event, and a T4 at the PGA Championship two weeks ago in his most recent start.
While he hasn’t won this season, he has come close and has been able to close out two PGA TOUR career victories. He brings a very high floor with his consistent production, and the only real negative is that he hasn’t played at this course in the past. He has played well in Texas, though, and starred at Texas Tech in college.
With so much momentum and a watered-down field, Aberg brings both a high ceiling and high floor, and he’s a great place to start your roster in formats where differentiation isn’t the top priority. Of all the top options, he’s a great anchor for your fantasy golf cash picks this week.
Hisatsune has been one of the most consistent performers this year on the PGA TOUR, which makes him an excellent option for this week’s cash game plays. He started 2026 by missing the cut at the season-opening Sony Open in Hawaii, but since then, the 23-year-old from Japan has reeled off 14 straight made cuts. He hasn’t just barely been making cuts, either, posting six top-25 and four top-10 finishes on the year to put himself in great shape in the FedExCup Playoff race this summer.
After posting a solid T35 at the PGA Championship, he finished T19 at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson last week. He hit more fairways than the field average for his fifth straight tournament. Over the last six months, he ranks in the top 25 in the field in Driving Accuracy, and in the top five in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green.
Hisatsune hasn’t won on the PGA TOUR yet, but he does have a DP World Tour win and three other wins on OWGR-sanctioned tours. He has a good career history in Texas as well, with a T8 at the Valero Texas Open earlier this year, and a T19 last week. At Colonial last year, Hisatsune finished T6, gaining strokes on approach and around the green to make up for a shaky week off the tee.
With his driving in better shape for his return this year, Hisatsune should be able to keep rolling, and he has both a high ceiling and a high floor in this week’s cash game plays.
Aberg is only 26, and Histasune is only 23, so let’s close out these fantasy golf cash game plays this week with a little more experience and go with a veteran option. 36-year-old Tony Finau has a great history at Colonial and has also been picking up some nice momentum coming into this week’s tournament.
The six-time PGA TOUR winner had a relatively quiet 2025 with just one top-10 finish, but he did make the FedExCup Playoffs for the 11th straight season. In 2026, he has popped for a few big weeks but also missed the cut in four events. He finished T11 at Torrey Pines early this season and T18 at the Valspar Championship, but his best finish of the season came last week at TPC Craig Ranch, where he was under 70 in each of his four rounds and ended up T6. That finish was his first top-10 since 2025’s The Genesis Invitational, which was almost 15 months ago.
After up and down results for much of the year, his game looked well-balanced last week as he ranked third in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee, fifth in total birdies made, and also placed in the top 20 in Strokes Gained: Approach and Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green.
He will try to carry over that success to this week at Colonial Country Club, where he has five top-25 finishes in his last six events and has made the cut in all but one of his nine career appearances. His best finish at this event was a runner-up finish in 2019, and he also finished T4 in 2022 and T17 two years ago before sitting out the event in 2025.
After missing Colonial last year, Finau is back as he tries to qualify for the U.S. Open in a few weeks. He looekd strong enough last week and has enough history at this track to be a top option for cash game builds this week.
