There will be two Game 1’s tonight, tipping off at 7 PM EST with the Cavaliers visiting the Pistons. Both teams just wrapped up a grueling seven game first round. The Lakers will visit the Thunder at 8:30 PM to finish the night.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the action this evening. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Basketball!
This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for tonight’s slate. We simply choose whether a player will record more or less of the set statistic. Here are my favorite plays for tonight’s action.
James played against OKC just twice in the regular season, scoring 22 points and 13 points, although the latter was a blowout in which the Lakers lost by 43 points. James attempted only seven shots in that game, which is unlikely to happen tonight.
At age 41, we have to respect the level that LeBron can still play at. He just eliminated the Rockets in six games, putting up 23.2 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 8.3 APG while being a +3.3 for the series. He only shot 43.2%, but he still took 18.5 FGA per game and we can expect this type of scoring volume to continue while Luka Doncic works towards a return. In the meantime, James will remain the Lakers’ first option and continue soaking up tons of usage. It may be ugly and inefficient against a defense like the Thunder’s, but James will try to keep this team afloat as their wait for Doncic.

Cunningham just wrapped up a grueling seven game series against the Magic while putting up 32.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 7.1 APG while shooting 46.2% from the field and 39.6% from three. The superstar guard exceeded expectations in his second-ever playoff series and will look to keep it rolling in the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who just wrapped up a Game 7 of their own.
Cleveland’s defense hasn’t been lockdown lately, either, with 113.4 DEFRTG over its last 10. If Detroit gets its usual shot quality, Cunningham will have no problem getting More than 27.5 with little variance. Detroit’s team context supports that aggressive forecast: the Pistons finished the regular season with a 118.05 OFFRTG and a +8.23 Net Rating, so they can generate efficient possessions even when opponents key in on Cunningham. The obvious caveat is the Pistons’ regular-season series: he averaged just 18.5 PPG in four games vs. the Cavs. Regardless, I’m comfortable backing Cunningham to retain massive usage as he’s been doing all playoffs long, with an NBA-leading 35.4% usage in the postseason.

One key takeaway from Harden’s first round series against Toronto was that he’s taking a back seat offensively and will act as a facilitator. Not that this should surprise anybody; Harden’s been in this role for a while now, and his huge scoring nights are few and far between.
Detroit has been strangling possessions lately with a 105.7 DEFRTG over its last 10 games, and they’ve played at a crawl with a 96.16 pace over that stretch. This type of environment limits shot volume and damages Harden’s chances of scoring More than 18.5. Additionally, the market is expecting a competitive, low total score game. I’m expecting Harden to spend most of his touches initiating the offense and manipulating matchups for Mitchell/Mobley/Allen.

Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of at least two players and select whether you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you cannot pick the same player twice and you must select players from at least two different teams.
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
