Memorial Day features plenty of great baseball matchups, as the national pastime celebrates the holiday in style. Under the lights, five more games are on tap for the main night slate of MLB DFS contests on DraftKings.
The evening slate kicks off at 6:40 p.m. ET when the Phillies meet the Padres at Petco Park. Three of the four other games on the slate are divisional matchups, with the Marlins visiting the Blue Jays in the one interleague series on the slate. As you make your MLB DFS picks for the evening slate, be sure to keep a close eye on lineups and weather delays, but it shapes up to be an exciting night with a 10-team conclusion to the day.
The weather is clear for the five games on the board Monday night. Two of the five games are indoors at Globe Life Field and Rogers Centre. The two later games in California have favorable offensive weather in the forecast, with the wind blowing out in Los Angeles and Sacramento, setting up nice hitting environments for Rockies-Dodgers and Mariners-Athletics.
Let’s look through the 10 teams in the player pool and pick out some top studs and values for your MLB DFS lineups on DraftKings on Monday. This article was written before starting lineups were announced.

Trey Yesavage, Toronto Blue Jays vs. Miami Marlins, $9,500 — Yesavage has carried over his success from last October and been very effective in his first five games after a delayed start to the season due to a shoulder injury. Yesavage has earned at least 14 FPTS in all of his five starts, going 2-1 with a 1.07 ERA and 1.86 FIP. The 22-year-old righty has 29 strikeouts in 25.1 innings.
He’s coming off his best start of the year, earning 32.3 FPTS by spinning six shutout innings with eight strikeouts and no walks at Yankee Stadium. Especially at home against a light-hitting Marlins lineup, Yesavage is the top stud to build around with plenty of strikeout upside. He also has a good chance to get a win, with opposing starter Janson Junk ($7,300) struggling of late.
Randy Vasquez, San Diego Padres vs. Philadelphia Phillies, $7,800 — I highlighted Kumar Rocker ($7,000) in my value plays for this slate. Still, another value to consider is Vasquez, who is a little more established than Rocker and should be in a solid matchup at pitcher-friendly Petco Park, even though he’s facing the powerful Phillies lineup.
Vasquez gave up three runs in just 4.1 innings in his last start against the Dodgers. But before running into that tough lineup, he had posted back-to-back games with over 20 FPTS against the Cardinals and the Mariners. Vasquez has reached 20 FPTS in five of his 10 outings this year, averaging 15.6 FPTS per outing. He has produced a solid 2.96 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 45 strikeouts in 54.2 innings this year. While his strikeout ceiling isn’t as high as Yesavage’s, Vasquez remains a solid value option for Monday night.
1B Nick Kurtz, Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners, $5,600 — Kurtz has been a little streaky this season with his power production, but he has reached base safely in an amazing 47 straight games. In his last 21 games, he is hitting .368 with three homers, 17 walks, a .224 ISO, and a .471 wOBA. He has been slightly better at home than on the road — while consistently crushing right-handed pitching. Seven of his eight dingers have come on that side of his splits, bolstering a .315 batting average and .454 wOBA on the season against righties. He has averaged 13.7 FPTS per game over his last 12 games. He is coming home to Sacramento swinging a hot bat, coming into a favorable matchup with opener Luis Castillo ($7,000) and bulk reliever Bryce Miller ($8,000).
1B/2B Justin Foscue, Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros, $2,500 — Foscue can be a bargain alternative to Kurtz at 1B or can slide over to 2B if that works better for your roster builds. The 27-year-old has been a big boost to the Rangers since injuries hit their lineup, with Corey Seager (back) and Wyatt Langford (hamstring) on the IL, and Josh Jung (shoulder) and Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) playing through injuries. Foscue hit .287 with two homers and three stolen bases in Triple-A this season, and he has been even better in the majors — hitting .318 with two homers and a .387 wOBA in his 15 games. In his last six games, he is 10-for-22 (.455) with a 53.3% hard-hit rate and 20% barrel rate. Even though he also has eight strikeouts during that span, he still managed 11.5 FPTS per contest, making him a solid value to consider Monday night against Tatsuya Imai ($6,600).
Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies, $6,500 — Ohtani and the Dodgers took two of three games on the road in Milwaukee over the weekend and come home to a juicy matchup Monday night against Tanner Gordon ($6,000) and the Colorado Rockies. I highlighted Gordon’s struggles in my MLB DFS Stacks spotlight for Monday’s slate, and Ohtani should be in a great spot against him since lefties have hammered him this season. While his power hasn’t yet reached elite levels, the Japanese superstar has been very productive of late. He has double-digit FPTS in five of his last eight games, averaging 14.3 FPTS per game over that stretch. He has averaged 11.2 FPTS in four games against the Rockies and has a high enough ceiling to be worth his hefty price tag on Monday.
Henry Bolte, Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners, $3,300 — Bolte has made a strong first impression with the Athletics, going 10-for-35 (.286) over his first 11 games (10 starts) with two doubles, three stolen bases, and a .333 wOBA since his promotion 12 days ago. The team’s No. 5 prospect, 22, brings a nice blend of power and speed upside as an elite athlete at 6-foot-3. Bolte has at least seven FPTS in five of his last six games and eight of his 11 games overall in the majors. He hit .348 with 12 homers and 17 stolen bases in his 37 games in Triple-A before his promotion and has the potential to produce big fantasy games with power, speed, or both any time he’s in the lineup.
