Ryan Wohl breaks down his best bet for Alan Chaves vs. Miguel Madueno at tonight’s Matchroom Boxing card.
The co-main event of tonight’s Matchroom Boxing card is a Lightweight contest between Alan Chaves vs. Miguel Madueno. Chaves is 21-0 while Madueno’s record sits at 31-4. Both fighters combine for 46 knockouts, with Madueno having 28 and Chaves having 18. This event is headlined by Jarrell Miller vs. Lenier Pero in a WBA title eliminator.
Check out my best bet for Alan Chaves vs. Miguel Madueno.
At 25 years old, Chaves is a rising star in the Lightweight division. Chaves has won four straight bouts by knockout and has finished 13 of his previous 14 opponents. This is Chaves’ first fight in the United States, as his first 21 bouts took place in his home country of Argentina. His opponent, Madueno, is coming off a loss to Oscar Duarte and is 1-3 in his previous four contests. Madueno’s last victory was a split-decision win over Justin Pauldo in February 2024.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Chaves is a massive -1000 favorite while Madueno is +600. The over/under is 8.5 rounds with the over being -135 for this contest. Even though both fighters are still young, they are trending in opposite directions. Madueno has struggled against tougher competition, while Chaves has excelled when facing better fighters. The difference in this contest is Chaves’ pace and volume. If Chaves comes out aggressively, it is unlikely that Madueno will be able to respond. Since Chaves is such a big favorite, I’m taking him to win by KO/TKO/DQ at -115. Chaves has won four straight by knockout, and 13 of 14 have come via KO/TO/DQ.
