Alex Hunter details his best NBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s NBA playoff game between the Celtics and 76ers.
Game 4 between the Celtics and 76ers will be played in Philadelphia on Sunday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Boston is favored by 7.5 points and this game carries a total of 213.5 points.
Let’s dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for tonight’s contest.
Brown prides himself on being one of the best two-way players in the NBA and his excellent defense was on full display in Game 3. In 40.2 minutes, Brown finished with three blocks and one steal, including an impressive chase-down block on Paul George on a fast break. Brown has racked up at least two stocks in each of the first three games of this series vs. the 76ers and only once in his last seven has Brown failed to tally two stocks.
The former NBA Finals MVP should see another huge workload in Game 4 and with the huge volume, him topping 1.5 steals and blocks is likely. For the last 10 occasions Brown has logged at least 35 minutes, he has finished with at least two stocks six times.
The Celtics’ defense is designed to protect the paint, which naturally makes this a friendly matchup for outside shooters. Boston is giving up the fewest points in the paint per game, but it is allowing the ninth-most made three-pointers per game and Maxey has fared well as a deep shooter in this matchup.
The guard has exceeded 2.5 made three-pointers in all but one of his seven matchups vs. the Celtics this season. In the last two games of this series vs. Boston, Maxey has shot 5-of-12 and 5-of-13 from beyond the arc. The All-Star clearly knows teeing it up from distance often is one of the best ways to expose Boston’s defense and Maxey should have another strong performance from deep in Game 4.
Despite playing 41 minutes in Friday’s Game 3, George didn’t grab a single rebound. In fact, he didn’t even see one rebound chance. George has now posted four, four and zero rebounds in the first three games of this series vs. the Celtics. Joel Embiid (appendix) being out has been one of the main reasons for George’s lack of rebounding, as sharing the floor with Andre Drummond instead of Embiid creates less rebound chances for George and his teammates.
Embiid is listed as doubtful for Game 4 and with him inactive this season, George is averaging 4.4 rebounds per game. Boston ranks dead last in pace and it is giving up the sixth-fewest rebounds per game. At this appealing +121 price, George is a great bet for under 4.5 rebounds.
