Bryan Armetta breaks down Friday’s two-game featured NBA DFS slate to find two undervalued players to slot into your lineups.
The NBA Play-In Tournament is finally coming to a close. On Friday, the final Eastern and Werstern Conference playoff spots are on the line. To start, it’ll be eight-seed Orlando hosting the division rival #9 Hornets. Later, it’ll be the tenth-seeded Warriors hoping to upset the seventh-seeded Suns. Even with so many big names in action, some lower-priced players are needed as well. Which bargains should managers prioritize ahead of tonight’s contests?

Coby White made this list on Tuesday, and he rewarded fantasy managers with a 19-point, five-rebound, three-assist performance (35.8 FPTS). Keeping that in mind, why not go back to the well on Friday? After all, the guard remains the de-facto leader of an otherwise thin Hornets second unit. Through 21 games as Charlotte’s sixth man, White is averaging 15.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. In addition, the 26-year-old is shooting 46% from the field and 39% from three-point range.
Despite a more limited workload, White remains a high-usage ball handler capable of creating his own shot. That was especially valuable on Tuesday against a lackluster Miami defense. A date with the Magic presents a step up in competition. With that being said, Coby has had success in this spot before. Look no further than the last time these teams met on March 19th. During that matchup, White went off for 27 points in just 23 minutes (38.8 FPTS). Anything similar on Friday would make the seventh-year pro a steal at $4,400.
Depth has been crucial for Phoenix’s surprise postseason push. A roster filled with veteran role players has benefited from positional flexibility and experience. Royce O’Neale is a prime example; the ninth-year pro is the ultimate Swiss Army knife. Capable of playing anywhere on the wings, he’s served as a key weapon in head coach Jordan Ott’s lineup. Through 78 games this year, O’Neale is putting up 9.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists (23.6 FPTS). On defense, he’s chipped in with 1.1 steals per game as well. That level of all-around play gives the forward multiple avenues to contribute in DFS formats.
If there’s anywhere the Warriors are weakest, it’s on the wings. The Dubs have surrendered the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season. It’s also worth mentioning that O’Neale comes into this one with some momentum. He’s tallied at least 30.0 fantasy points over his last last two contests against the Lakers and Trail Blazers. Adding to the intrigue, Grayson Allen (hamstring) is questionable to play tonight for the Suns. Should the sharpshooter sit out, Phoenix would need O’Neale now more than ever.
