Aaron Rodgers is officially returning for one more season. The last few offseasons have been a circus for Rodgers, but this time around, he silenced the rumors of his potential retirement or move to a new team relatively quickly. Rodgers has definitively stated that he is returning to the Steelers and that it will be his final season in the NFL. Only time will tell if he changes his mind next summer, but for now, he wants to make one more Super Bowl push. The Steelers won the AFC North with Rodgers last season before getting knocked out of the playoffs in the Wild Card by the Texans.
Rodgers was about a league-average NFL quarterback last season. He finished the regular season 15th in passing yards and 13th in passing touchdowns. It’s clear the days of Rodgers being a top-tier fantasy quarterback are behind him, but he could still be a reliable starter. The Steelers did bolster their wide receiver room by adding Michael Pittman Jr. and Germie Bernard this offseason. With that duo joining DK Metcalf, this offense could jump up a level from last season’s production.
Xavier Worthy took a step back statistically in his sophomore season. He only played 14 games, which certainly played a role in his decreased numbers. His receiving yards per game figure was almost identical to that of his rookie season. However, the major detractor in fantasy from his rookie year to his sophomore year was in the touchdown department. Worthy scored nine touchdowns in his rookie season, compared to just one last year.
However, fantasy players are taking a chance on Worthy following the legal news surrounding Rashee Rice. Rice only played three games in 2024-25 and then appeared in eight games last season. He has struggled to stay on the field between injuries and off-the-field issues since his great rookie year. Rice is currently serving 30 days of jail time and had offseason knee surgery as well. That makes his status unclear heading into next season in both the health and legal departments. For any time that Rashee Rice is out, or if he takes a while to round into form upon returning to the field, Xavier Worthy could be the WR1 for Patrick Mahomes. If he can find the end zone as he did in his rookie year, it should be a great season for Worthy.
Alvin Kamara only played 11 games last season, which was obviously a massive negative towards his fantasy value. Kamara is now on the wrong side of 30 and those injury concerns will only continue to grow. Over the past five seasons, he has played 11, 14, 13, 15 and 13 games. Kamara’s injury issues could be overlooked for a while because his production was generally off the charts when he did play. Prior to last season, his lowest rushing yards total was 694 yards, and his lowest total touchdown total was four. Last season, he rushed for just 471 yards and scored one total touchdown.
Due to that unreliability, the Saints went out and got Travis Etienne Jr. this offseason. Etienne has been one of the most consistent running backs in the NFL over the past few years. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in three of the four years of his career and should get a bulk of the carries this season. Kamara is likely to be used more as a third-down back and a receiving option, while Etienne will be the bell cow. That makes Kamara hard to trust from a season-long fantasy perspective.
Troy Franklin had a great 2025-26 season after seeing minimal action in his rookie year. Bo Nix and his college teammate really showed off what their connection could be. Franklin ended up with 709 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Both of those figures ranked second on the Broncos only to Courtland Sutton last season. The bad news for Franklin, and the reason for his decrease in ADP this offseason, is that the Broncos went out and got a couple of new weapons this offseason.
Denver paid up to acquire Jaylen Waddle from the Dolphins via trade. Waddle immediately becomes the second part of a nice wide receiver duo with Courtland Sutton. As such, Franklin goes from the clear WR2 last year to the clear WR3 this year. There are also young receivers on the roster like Pat Bryant and Marvin Mims Jr., who are looking to expand their roles in the team. Franklin will be competing with those guys for targets this season, with Sutton and Waddle likely dominating the target share from Nix.
