The Oklahoma City Thunder look to retake control of the series on Friday, taking on the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals at Frost Bank Center.

The Thunder were stunned in a double-overtime thriller in the series opener at home but responded with a 122–113 victory in Game 2 to settle the score. Now, they’ll lean on two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with a chance to capture the series lead. 

Tipoff is at 8:40 p.m. ET. San Antonio is a slight 1.5-point home favorite with -125 moneyline odds, while Oklahoma City is a rare +105 underdog.

Still, the reigning back-to-back MVP remained limited on the boards, pulling down just four rebounds across 38 minutes. 

Gilgeous-Alexander, 27, is averaging just 3.1 rebounds amid Oklahoma City’s playoff push, a sharp decline from his regular-season mark of 4.3 boards per contest. He has finished with fewer than 4.5 rebounds in all but one of 10 postseason outings — the lone exception was a five-board performance in Game 2 of the opening round against Phoenix.

It seems unlikely for SGA to stem the tide in San Antonio, facing a dangerous front court anchored by 7-foot-4 monolith Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs lead all 16 playoff teams with 48.4 rebounds per game, even better than their regular-season average (47). 

While Gilgeous-Alexander’s fingerprints should be all over Game 3, expect him to remain largely a non-factor on the glass on Friday.
