Zach Thompson gives his top teams to consider for MLB DFS stacks on Friday’s daily fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings.
All 30 teams in Major League Baseball are in action as we head into the long weekend in style. After a few early games, 12 matchups are on the board as part of the main Friday night DFS fantasy baseball slate, which begins at 7:05 p.m. ET. The main slate includes five divisional matchups and a few marquee series — including the Dodgers visiting the Brewers, and the A’s taking on the Padres. While there are some weather issues and pitching matchups to avoid, several lineups stand out as excellent places to target when searching for offensive production, making them my top plays in Friday’s MLB DFS Stacks.
Before we get to the individual selections for these contests, let’s define exactly what we’re searching for. An ideal target for MLB DFS stacks is a team well-positioned to score plenty of runs based on its matchup and ballpark. “Stacking” is the strategy of adding multiple players from the same MLB lineup to your roster to boost each other’s production.
Ideally, MLB DFS stacks focus on players who are either back-to-back or from the same part of the lineup to allow positive correlation. Since most run-scoring plays produce fantasy points for multiple players, stacking a high-scoring team can carry your entry to the top of the leaderboard. The key to MLB DFS stacks paying off is finding the perfect matchup to attack, so let’s take a look at the top spots.

The Snakes are surging after claiming five straight wins to climb over .500, and currently are just out of an NL Wild Card spot. They’ll look to make it six in a row as they host the Rockies at Chase Field on Friday in a good matchup against Tomoyuki Sugano ($5,800). Sugano held the Diamondbacks to just two runs on seven hits in five innings in his last start, but he has a 4.02 ERA and 5.48 FIP on the season. He has also posted a 46.5% hard-hit rate and 15.5% barrel rate that drive his xERA to 7.23, underscoring some heavy batted-ball luck. He has surrendered nine homers in nine starts, six to lefties.
The Diamondbacks have multiple switch-hitters like Marte and Vargas who will swing from the left side in this matchup, while Carroll and Del Castillo are already on the strong side of the splits. I highlighted Marte in my top home run props for Friday, and he has been heating up, averaging 16.4 FPTS over his last five games, with two homers and four multi-hit games. Carroll has also been producing as a stud to build around with 14.2 FPTS per contest over his last nine games.
Vargas is having a breakout season for Arizona, while Del Castillo and Waldschmidt offer strong value from the bottom of the lineup. Del Castillo can be a solid way to get home-run upside behind the plate, while Waldschmidt has provided good numbers across the board from center field and works as a wraparound stack, batting ninth before the lineup turns over. The rookie has reached base safely in four straight games, hitting an even .300 while averaging 7.3 FPTS per game. He has an average of 9.7 FPTS in his seven home games, since two of his three stolen bases have been at Chase Field.
The Blue Jays are at home against the Pirates this weekend, and they’ll start the week with a matchup against Bubba Chandler ($6,000), who still has huge long-term potential but has scuffled this season. Chandler has a 1-5 record in his nine starts with a 5.14 ERA and 5.84 FIP. He’s issued 31 walks in 42 innings and has a 1.52 WHIP. He hasn’t given up a ton of hard contact, but his constant baserunners could lead to plenty of runs for Toronto.
Guerrero has hit safely in four of his last five games, averaging 9.8 FPTS per game and starting to gather momentum. Springer is also finding his rhythm and has hit safely in each of the four games in New York, homering twice and averaging 11 FPTS per game.
Varsho has been even better lately, hitting in six straight and going 11-for-23 (.478) with four doubles, two walks, a stolen base and 11.2 FPTS per game over that stretch. Okamoto and Valenzuela can finish out the stack as solid value options. Valenzuela is 11-for-40 (.275) in May with a double and two homers.
In one of the best outdoor environments for offense on Friday night, the Rangers visit the Angels in an AL West matchup. While they’ll send Jacob deGrom ($9,500) to the mound, they’ll be in a favorable matchup against Grayson Rodriguez ($6,900). Rodriguez struggled in his first start since 2024, coughing up seven runs on seven hits and four walks over 3.2 innings against the Dodgers. He didn’t give up any homers, but like with Chandler, all the traffic he allows makes him a good matchup to attack.
With Corey Seager (back) and Wyatt Langford (forearm) on the shelf, the rest of the offense will need to step up. Nimmo left Wednesday’s game early as well, but he could be back in the lineup Friday and will be a strong option if so. Jung has hit .305 over his last 20 games with one homer, 10 runs scored, seven RBIs and a .330 wOBA.
Burger has been on a power binge lately, going deep in three of his last eight games while going 13-for-29 (.448) with a 52.2% hard-hit rate and .575 wOBA. Additionally, Foscue is a great value to consider under $3,000. He is 11-for-34 (.324) with double-digit fantasy points in three straight games and an average of 7.7 FPTS over his last 10 contests. Foscue has hit second in the order in back-to-back games.
