Kyle Bradish will take the mound tonight for the Orioles in Baltimore. It’s been a tough start to 2026 for Bradish, who owns a 5.03 ERA with an xERA of 5.11 and a 4.84 FIP. Walks have been a major issue as well, as his 5.5 BB/9 is way above his career average of 3.1. Both sides of the plate have hit him hard as well, with lefties tagging him for a .359 wOBA and righties with a .460 wOBA. The Athletics lineup should be a solid mix of both, as they’ve used in the past. This lineup is also very good against the slider and sinker, which make up nearly 60% of Bradish’s pitches
The Orioles bullpen has also been seeing its share of struggles lately. Over the past week, they’ve posted a 7.57 ERA with 4.9 BB/9 and 1.3 HR/9. Bradish isn’t going deep into games and has only pitched more than five innings in two of his seven starts. That likely means the Athletics will have a good chunk of this game against the Orioles bullpen, which has been an advantage to hitters lately.
I think this is a sneaky spot for Happ against Kumar Rocker tonight in Texas. Rocker is a heavy sinkerball pitcher, throwing it 42% of the time. Happ has absolutely destroyed that pitch dating back to last season, and the numbers back it up. Through 53 plate appearances, he owns a massive .653 wOBA and a .600 ISO when thrown by a righty. Rocker also has some poor numbers when facing a left-handed batter, which makes me like this bet even more. On the season, Rocker has a .367 wOBA with a 4.42 FIP. With Happ likely batting in the cleanup spot, he should be in a prime position to record at least 2 H/R/RBI.
Hancock is having a fantastic season. Through seven starts, he owns a 2.59 ERA with an xERA of 3.64, a 9.9 K/9, and a 1.3 BB/9. Tonight, he’ll take on a White Sox club that hasn’t been overly strong against right-handed pitching. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .316 wOBA with a .151 ISO and a 25.2% K%. For Hancock to go over this outs total, he’ll need to complete 5.2 innings. He’s done this in five of his seven starts and has completed at least five innings in every start he’s made.
