Alex Hunter provides his top DraftKings fantasy golf value plays for the 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial CC.
The PGA TOUR remains in Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club (par 70, 7,289 yards, bentgrass greens) in Fort Worth. This par 70 has hosted the Charles Schwab Challenge since it’s inception in 1946, making this is longest running course and event relationship on the PGA TOUR. Ben Griffin (-12) won last year’s Charles Schwab Challenge by one stroke. For this week, there will be 133 players competing and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
Colonial is a tree-lined course that features narrow fairways, thick rough, small greens, 64 bunkers and water in play on six holes. Avoiding the rough and being in the right spots in the fairways is far more crucial than being long at Colonial. This is a less-than-driver course where off-the-tee stats aren’t overly important. However, it is essential that you are in strong form with both your irons and putter to win at Colonial. Over the last five years, four of the winners at this track have finished the event top-12 in both SG APP and SGP. Also, being an efficient par four player is a must at Colonial, as this venue is a classic par 70 that is home to 12 par fours. Of the last five winners at Colonial, four have finished the tournament top-three in par four scoring.
Let’s dive into three of my favorite DraftKings bargain plays for the Charles Schwab Challenge, which all cost less than $7.5K.

Eric Cole ($7,200) – Cole finished T28th at Colonial last season and he is poised for an event better result at the par 70 this week. Cole has only missed one of his last six cuts and he has finished inside the top-15 three times during this run, including a T15 at the Valero Texas Open last month. Cole also finished T31st at the Texas based CJ CUP Byron Nelson last week and he was terrific in the final round, carding a 6-under 65 at TPC Craig Ranch. Additionally, Cole gained strokes on approach and with his putter at the par 71.
The veteran has shot under par 10 straight solo rounds and when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, Cole ranks fourth in SGP and 19th in SG APP. The 37-year-old has made seven consecutive cuts in the Lone Star State and Cole is way underpriced at $7,200, which is a big drop from his $8,100 salary for last week.
Tom Hoge ($6,900) – Hoge has come alive recently. The 36-year-old has made six straight cuts and in his last two starts, he has finished T26th at the PGA Championship and T6th at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Hoge gained strokes on approach and with his putter at both these events. Hoge finished fourth in SG APP at TPC Craig Ranch last week and he was on fire in the second round, posting a 9-under 62, tying his career low on the PGA TOUR.
Hoge is playing his best golf in quite some time and another high finish is on the table for him at Colonial, where he has made 5-of-9 cuts, including a T17 two years ago.
Emiliano Grillo ($6,800) – After missing three cuts in a row, Grillo got back on track at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson last week, finishing T38th. Outside of around the greens, the professional out of Argentina gained strokes in every major category at TPC Craig Ranch and he shot a season-low 7-under 64 in the first round. Grillo now makes his way to Colonial, where he won in 2023.
Grillo has only missed one cut in 10 starts at Colonial and he has produced six top-25 finishes at the par 70. Grillo finished T16th at Colonial last season and he brings similar upside this week at this venue he loves.
