Geoff Ulrich shares his top fantasy golf picks to help you build your DraftKings Pick6 pick sets for the 2026 PGA Championship.
The PGA TOUR’s 2026 season will see its second major championship go off this week at Aronimink in Pennsylvania, the host of this year’s PGA Championship. DraftKings users can play in DraftKings PGA Pick6 contests for the PGA Championship for all four rounds. If you’re new, Pick6 is a single-user daily fantasy game where you select players to go over or under the totals.
The PGA Championship field will take place at Aronimink and feature a full 156-man field. This venue has hosted events on the PGA TOUR in prior seasons, mainly the BMW Championship back in 2018, which was won by Keegan Bradley at -20 over Justin Rose in a playoff. The venue measures in at just under 7,400 yards and will play as a Par 70 this week. The Donald Ross design is known more for its original layout and technical routing and doesn’t expect to overwhelm with pure length like some PGA Championship venues of recent years.
I reviewed additional statistics and course dynamics in the PGA Championship Cheat Sheet and included some notes on the course below for Pick6 research.
“The venue plays as a longer Par 70 at over 7,300 yards on the scorecard and features several longer holes that may limit the number of birdie chances the players see this week if the green speed stays fast. The re-design focused on restoring some of the bunkering around the venue, setting new tee boxes, and widening some of the greens and fairways to bring different strategic elements into play. The large greens may be one of the best defenses the course contains, and firm greens this week, coupled with tough pin placements, will undoubtedly make things more challenging.
In 2018, we saw a tight leaderboard that ultimately came down to a duel between two precise ball-strikers in Keegan Bradley and Justin Rose, and even with some cooler weather in store, it does seem likely we’ll again see the need for precision and accuracy come to the forefront. The venue isn’t brutishly long like some previous PGA TOUR venues, but it does feature three par 3’s at over 220 yards in length, as well as six par 4’s in the 400-450 yard range.
The winning scores at this venue back in 2010 and 2011 were -10 (Rose 2010), -13 (Watney 2011), and -20 in 2018 (Bradley), the first time it hosted an event on the redesigned course. If it does soften up, then we could see some low scores throughout the week, but a hotter weekend suggests that firm greens may in fact keep scoring somewhat tougher.”
As of now, we have tournament-long and finishing position totals on the Pick6 site for play, so that’s where we’ll be focusing this week. The weather is expected to be cooler over the first couple of days, which could impact scoring. As of now, totals do seem very reasonable, so unless the PGA has completely tricked out this venue, I am still leaning towards lower scores than us seeing more bogies or worse.
With that in mind, I’ve focused on a few of my favorite plays for this week’s PGA Championship.

Cantlay is playing some solid golf at the moment. He was among the leaders in strokes gained tee-to-green stats at the Masters in April, where he finished a solid T12, and has posted top-10 finishes in multiple events since, including last week at Quail Hollow, where he was T10. The American has finished high up at this major before, grabbing a T3 in 2019 at BethPage Black, another course in the same part of the country as Aronimink.
Cantlay should also get a boost from this week’s layout, as he’s typically been a Donald Ross specialist over his career. He’s finished 2nd and won at East Lake in prior seasons, and also finished 2nd at the Ross-designed Detroit Golf Club in 2024. The 31.5 finishing position just seems too low for a player of his caliber who comes in with some solid confidence and will be playing on what should be a very beneficial layout for his skill set.

This feels like an awfully large total on Im, who was in contention all weekend at Quail Hollow last week before sliding a bit on his final few holes. The South Korean handled the longer venue great for the most part and really only had a few mishaps, such as short putts missed on Saturday and a water ball off the tee on Sunday that held him back from winning.
Overall, Im’s iron play does need to improve a little, but the rest of his game is in good enough shape that I expect he’ll handle himself well enough this week to beat this low standard. He’s also played well around Ross courses, landing high finishes at Sedgefield (T2 in 2022) and East Lake (T2 in 2022) in years past.

Smotherman has had a great overall season. He nearly won his first event at PGA National, where he led the field after three rounds, and has showcased classy ball-striking throughout the year, including great iron play. He’s also made the cut and had some decent finishes at a couple of other Donald Ross-designed venues across the PGA, including Sedgefield and Detroit Golf Club, making this week’s course one I expect he may excel on.
The PGA Championship is also generally a little easier environment for players like Smotherman to excel in, as the addition of PGA teaching pros seems to make it a little relaxed, so I expect we’ll see him perform well enough to get through the weekend. For Pick6 lineups, the fact that we’re also getting a full payout multiplier on him to go for more than 36.5 holes makes this a solid target for three-man lineups (or bigger).
Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of 2+ players and select whether you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
