Keagan Smith gives his best bet on DraftKings Sportsbook along with a prediction and pick for Friday’s FIFA World Cup match between Brazil and Haiti.
As the Group Stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues, we’re diving into each and every matchup to find value for bettors. After the first match of Group C play, Brazil remains one of the favorites to win the entire tournament but came out concerningly flat in its opening fixture. Meanwhile, Haiti dropped its own opener and enters this matchup as quite the long shot.
Kickoff for Brazil vs. Haiti is scheduled for Friday, June 19 at 8:30 p.m. in Philadelphia. Let’s dive in for a top prediction and pick on DraftKings Sportsbook for this 2026 FIFA World Cup match.
Brazil entered the World Cup ranked sixth in the official FIFA rankings. Likewise, the side sits sixth in odds to win the tournament outright on DraftKings Sportsbook at +1100.
The team’s first fixture of the World Cup schedule certainly lived up to expectations, but not for the Brazilians themselves. Instead, it was Morocco who shined in that 1-1 draw, holding tight for the draw as Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti said “nerves” were the primary factor that led to his side starting group play with just a single point. Vinicius Junior scored his squad’s lone goal to make something of the day, though the team did settle in some during the second half. A better result should loom this time around given the talent on this roster. The front and middle are major strengths with an embarrassment of riches — Rapinha led the club with five goals in 13 games during qualifying, and he was joined in the World Cup opener’s Starting XI by Vinicius Junior and Thiago up front. Bruno Guimaraes and Casemiro formed 2/3 of an excellent midfield, while Gabriel manned the centerback spot on the back line in front of Alisson. That’s a lethal grouping that should dominate, by all means.
Meanwhile, Haiti faces a massive uphill battle in this match. The island nation falls all the way down at 84th in the world rankings and is competing on this stage for just the second time ever, with the previous appearance coming over half a century ago back in 1974.
The Haitian side fought hard just to get this far, and really, their opening fixture wasn’t half bad given expectations. While they fell 1-0 to Scotland to open Group C play, they finished that match with 50% possession to complement a 13-8 edge in shots and 89%-81% advantage in pass accuracy. That counts for something, though they’ll need to clean up their discipline after being caught offsides three times on the day. While yet to score in the World Cup, Haiti got six goals in 10 qualifying games from all-time leading goalscorer Duckens Nazon as well as four from Louicius Deedson. Wilson Isidor could also be an X-factor here after a solid couple of seasons with Sunderland in England, too.
Still, it’s exceedingly clear that Brazil should win in a rout. Their level of talent at the top as well as their depth is far superior to that of this opponent, evidenced by the -1000 odds to win on the Moneyline. Sure, a draw at +1000 presents quite the value as a long shot, but the chances this side comes out flat once again after their disappointing performance to begin the tournament feel minimal at best and microscopic at most. Watch for Brazil’s attackers to put at least three goals on the board while the back line and Alisson limit chances on the back end.
The spread makes plenty of sense here. Brazil at a spread of -2.5 feels like a top pick for this FIFA World Cup fixture.
