I’ve taken today’s most popular MLB player props on DraftKings Sportsbook and broken down exactly why the public is so fond of these, helping you make informed picks ahead of Friday’s MLB slate. However, a couple things to note. First, home run props are by far the most popular market in MLB betting, so I might reach a little further down the list to shake things up on occasion. Speaking of, let’s just assume that a lot of people are betting on Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge and Kyle Schwarber to hit long balls every time they take the field. Deal? Deal.

(stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Mike Trout 1+ Home Run (+285): The past half-decade has taught me to always temper my excitement surrounding Mike Trout. Is he hitting like a God on Earth again? Well, don’t take it for granted, because he might be on the IL by this time next week. However, this time around it feels a little different. Set to turn 35-years-old later this season, I think we all collectively are desperate for at least one more dominant Trout campaign — and we might be running out of chances. That’s why it was so refreshing to watch the one-day Hall of Fame outfielder club five long balls during this week’s four-game set in the Bronx. If that doesn’t get the attention of the betting public, I don’t know what will. Probably doesn’t hurt that Matt Waldron will be making his 2026 debut for the Padres, either. The knuckleballer has surrendered 1.58 home runs per nine to RHBs throughout his MLB career.
Matt Olson 1+ Home Run (+408): There’s a couple things to think about with the popularity of this prop. First and foremost, Olson has been fantastic to begin the season, sporting a .320 ISO and a 167 wRC+ across his first 84 plate appearances. Secondly, there’s the matter of Taijuan Walker, who continues to look absolutely washed — especially when having to face a left-handed opponent. Walker’s seen 51 LHBs through three starts and they’ve combined to slash .356/.412/.711 with four home runs. Zack Wheeler’s rehab is almost wrapped up. This might be the last chance we get as a society to bet against Walker as a starter. I, for one, will be taking advantage.
Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Run (+271): When he’s healthy, Alvarez continues to prove he’s one of the best hitters on the planet. Across 89 plate appearances in 2026, Alvarez is in possession of a 100th percentile expected wOBA (.545) and a 100th percentile expected slugging rate (.837). In more basic terms, he’s batting .328 with seven homers. Any way you slice it, the man is about as dangerous and red-hot as anyone in the sport entering play on Friday. Will Kyle Leahy be able to keep him in the park? I have my doubts. Leahy’s issue so far this season has been walks, not the home run ball, yet a 16.7% opponent barrel rate suggests that long balls might be on the horizon. Why not tonight?
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a parlay and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
