The NBA’s first-round playoff action continues tonight, with the Pistons visiting the Magic at 8 PM EST. The Thunder will visit the Suns at 9:30 PM to try to sweep their series, and the Timberwolves will visit the Nuggets at 10:30 for a pivotal Game 5.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the action this evening. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Basketball!
This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for tonight’s slate. We simply choose whether a player will record more or less of the set statistic. Here are my favorite plays for tonight’s action.
Cunningham has been sharp this series, but has crossed this threshold only once in Game 1, where he went off for 39 points on 48% shooting from the field. Since then, he’s scored 27 twice in a row. But Game 3’s shooting performance was unusual, with Cunningham going 8/23 from the floor. It’ll be tough for Cade to not make it to 28.5 points given the amount of shots he’s taking per game. In the regular season, Cunningham averaged 18.6 FGA and got to the line 6 times per game, which is a career-high. Cunningham figures to be the center of this Pistons offense once again and will look for a big win tonight to prevent his team from going down 1-3, which would be a death sentence.

Nikola Jokic put up another ridiculous regular season, averaging 27.7 PPG on .569/.380/.831 shooting splits, but Minnesota has dragged him into unusually uncomfortable territory in this first-round series. Through four games, Jokic is shooting just 39.1% from the field and 18.5% from three, a jarring drop-off for one of the league’s most efficient offensive players. Rudy Gobert has been central to this, using his length, strength, and patience to make Jokic work deeper into the clock instead of letting him flow into easy post touches and clean pass reads. Minnesota is also living with certain Jokic jumpers, staying home on Denver’s cutters and forcing him to win possessions as a scorer rather than letting him casually dissect the floor as a passer. Jokic went just 7/26 in Game 3 and followed it with an 8/22 Game 4.
Even with Game 5 shifting back to Denver, this is not an easy spot for Jokic. The Nuggets need him to be great, but they probably do not need him to take every shot. When Jokic is at his best, his scoring bends the defense just enough to unlock everyone else, allowing players like Jamal Murray and Cam Johnson to curl into rhythm looks, and his cutters to run free. Minnesota has done a strong job muddying that game plan, with Gobert absorbing the primary matchup while the rest of the Wolves attack passing lanes and force Denver’s supporting cast to beat them. For the Nuggets to extend the series, Jokic likely has to solve this matchup as an organizer as much as a scorer.

Jalen Duren is another player who had an excellent regular season but has been underwhelming in the postseason. Across three games, Duren is averaging only 9 PPG and 8.3 RPG on 41.7% shooting from the floor. It’s not that he’s suddenly regressed. The Magic have simply done a good job of denying him his typical opportunities, hounding his rolls to the rim and denying entry passes. They’re prioritizing their disruption of his two-man game with Cunningham, and it’s paying off, with the Magic leading 2-1 in this series. They’ll live with Cade hero ball; Cunningham has now taken 69 shots in three games for the Pistons. Orlando’s game plan will continue to prioritize making life miserable for Jalen Duren, and they’ll try to eek out this first-round upset by doing so.

Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of at least two players and select whether you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you cannot pick the same player twice and you must select players from at least two different teams.
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
