Alex Hunter provides his top prop bets for the final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club.
The final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge is underway at Colonial Country Club on Sunday. Eric Cole (-12) holds a one-shot lead as he seeks his first PGA TOUR win. Below, I have featured two of my favorite prop bets for Sunday’s final round on DraftKings Sportsbook.
After opening the Charles Schwab Challenge with a 3-under 67 and a 2-under 68, Cole caught fire in Saturday’s third round at Colonial, posting a 7-under 63 to give him the one-shot lead. This was the lowest number of the third round and tied for the lowest score of the tournament.
Cole carded eight birdies and only one bogey on Saturday, and both his irons and putter were tremendous during this round. For the day, Cole led the field in SG APP and he ranked fourth in SGP. For the event, Cole ranks top-12 in both metrics.
Now, Cole carries appealing +108 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook to shoot under 69.5 on Sunday. The concern here is that the moment could be too big for him and Cole could fold under pressure as he seeks his first PGA TOUR win. Plus, he shot a 2-over 72 in his final round at Colonial last season, when he finished T-28. That being said, Cole is in better form this time around and he has fared well in final rounds recently.
Cole has shot 69 or lower in 10 of his last 11 rounds and in his last two starts, he has posted scores of 67 and 65 in the final round. It’s early, but Colonial is playing about one stroke under par so far Sunday and at least a 1-under 69 is well within reach for Cole, possibly resulting in the breakthrough victory for the veteran.
This line is strangely low for Henley. The five-time PGA TOUR winner sits in a tie for fifth place at -9 on the leaderboard, three shots off the lead and Henley has been awesome with his irons this week. For the event, Henley ranks first in both SG APP and GIR.
In his three rounds at Colonial, Henley has stuck 16, 14 and 15 greens. The afternoon forecast is calling for wind gusts around 10 MPH, which are perfectly fine conditions for Henley to stay hot with his irons. As he looks to chase down Cole and win this event, Henley should have no issues hitting more than 11 greens Sunday.
