Zach Thompson dives into Monday night’s nine-game MLB slate to find three value options for your DraftKings lineups.
Major League Baseball has a nice, nine-game Monday night main DFS fantasy slate on tap to start the week with a flourish. The slate includes five divisional matchups and a few marquee matchups like the Dodgers rolling into Houston to take on the Astros. With plenty of stars and sleepers on the board, let’s take a look at a few MLB DFS Value Picks who bring good upside and potential production even though they are available at low salaries.
At this point in the year, especially, the weather can have a major impact on many fantasy baseball contests. On Monday, the weather looks iffy in Colorado, Kansas City, Chicago and St. Louis, so be sure to keep a close eye on the forecast as we approach the first pitch.
Let’s dive in and take a look at a few of the best value plays from the 18 teams in the player pool this Monday.

The bargain bin has some very high-risk plays, but Martin is a great spot to get some value and upside from under $8,000 from the probable pitchers on Monday’s slate. The 29-year-old righty has gone 4-1 in his six starts this season, compiling an impressive 1.95 ERA, backed up by a 2.88 FIP and 3.67 SIERA.
Martin has at least 22 FPTS in four of his last five games and has over 13 FPTS in each of his six starts. He’ll be facing the Angels for the second straight outing after going 5 2/3 innings and giving up seven hits and one run in a win last Tuesday. The Angels have the highest K% in the majors and are averaging 9.9 strikeouts per contest.
In some matchups, Martin doesn’t have a super-high ceiling due to his lack of strikeouts, but in this rematch, he should be able to get enough strikeouts to compensate for any runs he allows, and with the lineup surging behind him, he’ll look to hand Jose Soriano ($9,600) a second straight loss.
Andujar hit his second homer of the season on Sunday afternoon, going 1-for-4 and hitting second in the order for the first time this season. He earned that opportunity by hitting safely in 10 of his previous 11 games, with four doubles, a home run and a .394 wOBA.
He is hitting .364 this season against righties, even though Sunday’s homer came off lefty Anthony Kay, Andujar could slot second again on Monday as the Padres visit the Giants and take on lefty Carson Whisenhunt ($6,500). Whisenhunt went 2-2 in six minor-league games, compiling a 4.85 ERA. He was hit around in his first taste of the majors last year, going 2-1 in five starts but with a 5.01 ERA and 6.91 FIP. Righties hit .281 against him with a .434 wOBA and five homers in 70 plate appearances.
Andujar is a flexible option that can fit at the hot corner or in the outfield and brings good upside with his consistent recent production.
The Guardians drafted Bazzana with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. The 23-year-old Aussie was the No. 16 prospect in baseball coming into the season, according to MLB Pipeline.
In Triple-A, Bazzana hit .287 with two homers, a .421 wOBA and eight stolen bases in 24 games. He went 0-for-9 in his first three games but worked four walks and scored two runs. On Saturday, he went 1-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI and a run scored for 16 FPTS. He followed that up on Sunday by going 2-for-3 with a walk and another stolen base for 13 FPTS.
Bazzana has plenty of speed potential and some power that he hasn’t shown off in the majors yet. He’s in a solid matchup in Kansas City against Michael Wacha ($8,300), who started the season hot but has allowed 10 runs in 10 1/3 innings in his last two starts with six walks and a pair of homers. Lefties like Bazzana have hit three of the four homers against Wacha this season.
