Charlie Cummings shares his top DraftKings MLB DFS stud plays, values, and targets for Sunday’s slate on 6/28/26.
Welcome to my weekly Sunday DraftKings MLB DFS plays. I’ll break down some of the prime picks on the board, including studs and value plays, and break down why these players can lead your lineup to victory.
Set your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups here: MLB $150K Bat Flip [$50K to 1st].
SP Brandon Woodruff (MIL), $8,800: Brandon Woodruff sure made his return from the IL felt in his last start. Facing the Cincinnati Reds, Woodruff struck out 10 batters in six shutout innings, permitting only one hit. When he’s on, he’s on, and I expect him to bring his best stuff against a scuffling Cubs team. You can rely on Woodruff for SP1 value.
SP Mitch Keller (PIT), $6,900: This season hasn’t been kind to Mitch Keller, holding a 4.89 ERA on the season. Sunday’s game is a chance to build some momentum. Cincinnati’s offense has been one of the worst in baseball this year, and it’s a great spot for Keller to prove he belongs in this talented Pittsburgh rotation.
SP Kumar Rocker (TEX), $6,500: Kumar Rocker’s career certainly hasn’t gone as he expected, but some of the results have been strong this year. He has big strikeout potential and has found a way to be consistent over the last month plus, giving up two or fewer runs in six of his last eight starts. Toronto’s lineup has been less than impressive this year, and it’s a good spot for Rocker to deliver SP2 value.
C Hunter Goodman (COL), $5,200: This may be the hottest hitter in baseball. Hunter Goodman rocked three more home runs on Saturday night and has an MLB-leading 12 home runs in June. The best hitting catcher in baseball, Goodman actually has a better OPS on the road than at home, so you can dismiss the “Coors Field Merchant” allegations. Facing rookie left-hander Connor Prielipp and his 5.17 ERA, this is a great spot for Goodman to continue his elite hitting ways.
1B/OF Jake Bauers (MIL), $4,700: It’s awfully impressive that Jake Bauers continues to be productive for the Brewers. With his OPS approaching .900, he remains a consistent presence in the middle of their quality batting order. Cubs starter Vince Velasquez is getting his feet wet after a long time away from MLB, and I expect this to be a strong spot for Bauers to produce some power numbers.
2B/SS Ernie Clement (TOR), $2,800: Put some respect on soon-to-be All-Star Ernie Clement’s name. Toronto’s keystone infielder is batting over .300 on the season and has three straight multi-hit games coming into Sunday’s contest. The upside isn’t super high in an underwhelming Blue Jays offense, but he brings a tremendously high floor to each game.
3B/SS Brooks Lee (MIN), $3,500: There haven’t been many great stories for the Minnesota Twins this year, but Brooks Lee is certainly one of them. The young infielder is on pace to flirt with a 30-homer, 100-RBI season for the Twins, and has consistently provided big swings through the first half of the season. Lee rides a modest four-game hitting streak into Sunday’s game, with three games of double-digit DFS points in that span. Against struggling Rockies starter Ryan Feltner, Lee is in a great spot, and the positional versatility sure doesn’t hurt his case.
3B Kazuma Okamoto (TOR), $3,400: This guy can really hit. Toronto’s offensive struggles have overshadowed the fact that Kazuma Okamoto might go for 40 homers in his rookie year, and he continues to flex his muscles for the Blue Jays. If you’re not going for Rocker as your SP2, I’d highly recommend an Okamoto/Clement stack.
OF Jackson Chourio (MIL), $5,400: Stay hot, Jackson Chourio. The young star’s leadoff homer on Saturday marked his third straight game with an extra-base hit, and Chourio’s OPS continues to climb as he builds up strength after his injury. I love his run-scoring potential against Cubs starter Vince Velasquez, and he makes for a great stack with Jake Bauers.
1B/OF Kyle Stowers (MIA), $4,000: I’m here for the Kyle Stowers resurgence. After an All-Star campaign last season, injuries put him on the back foot this year, but he’s finally catching up. Stowers extended his hitting streak to six games on Saturday and has had an extra-base hit or an RBI in each of those contests. Cardinals starter Kyle Leahy isn’t the man to slow his roll, and Stowers should continue to produce in the middle of Miami’s lineup.
OF Braden Montgomery (CWS), $3,100: There’s a lot of boom-bust to Braden Montgomery’s game, as you can expect from a rookie with a lot of power. But he extended his on-base streak to seven games on Saturday. In that span, Montgomery has four extra-base hits, four RBIs, and six runs scored. Royals starter Luinder Avila’s command issues raise his floor, and he has a lot of upside to boot.
