Alex Hunter details his best NBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s Game 4 between the Spurs and Thunder.
Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Thunder and Spurs will be played in San Antonio on Sunday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Spurs are favored by 2.5 points and this game carries a total of 219.5 points.
Let’s dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for Sunday’s contest.
Coming off back-to-back losses and looking to avoid a 3-1 deficit in this best-of-seven, Wembanyama should have a huge performance in Game 4. The superstar has scored 41, 21 and 26 points in the first three contests of this series vs. the Thunder while shooting 54% from the field. In the 11 games this postseason that Wembanyama hasn’t exited early, he has topped 25.5 points six times.
Wembanyama’s usage is down from 32.4% in the regular season to 26.9% this postseason, but he is handling much bigger minutes. Wembanyama has logged 43, 37 and 39 regulation minutes in the first three tilts of this Western Conference Finals, which is a massive difference from the 29.2 minutes per game he averaged in the regular season. With so much at stake tonight, Wembanyama should see close to 40 minutes again and 25.5 points is simply too low of a line for this situation. This season, Wembanyama is scoring an elite 0.83 points per minute and he is averaging 30.3 PPG for the 14 instances he has logged at least 35 minutes.
Fox (ankle) made his return from a two-game absence in Game 3 and finished with seven rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes of work. With a game under his belt and more on the line for the Spurs tonight, Fox should see his playing time increase to around 35 minutes and surpass 8.5 RA.
During these playoffs, Fox is averaging 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 33.1 minutes per game. Furthermore, Fox is averaging 10.4 potential assists and 8.0 rebound chances per game. Fox has cleared 8.5 RA in 8-of-12 games this postseason and in 4-of-6 matchups vs. the Thunder this season.
After grabbing eight rebounds in Game 1, Holmgren only finished with four and three rebounds in the last two of this series. The big man logged less than 30 minutes in each of these contests, as Isaiah Hartenstein has seen more work, given Holmgren’s struggles against Wembanyama.
The Thunder have won these past two with Holmgren playing less, so one would assume they will continue with this game plan tonight and if this comes to fruition, topping 7.5 rebounds will be difficult for Holmgren, especially with this game in San Antonio. This season, the big man is averaging 0.8 rebounds per game less on the road than at home.
