Blake Krass breaks down the dramatic Casa Amor recoupling from Friday night’s pivotal episode of Love Island USA.
This episode of Love Island USA was one of the most important of the season. The islanders had the all-important decision of deciding whether they wanted to recouple in Casa Amor, or return to their old couple.
Here is what happened on Friday night’s episode of Love Island USA.
The episode began with the islanders’ final night in Casa Amor. This is everyone’s last chance to have the serious conversations needed to decide how real their connections are in Casa Amor. It was also the final chance to share a bed with the person they were interested in. The following morning, the boys made a last-ditch effort in the only way they knew how — by making breakfast. Corey even went above and beyond to make Melanie a breakfast picnic to show how much more sincere he is than some other guys in the villa.
After a morning of conversations, the islanders got that fateful text to let them know it was time to recouple. There were plenty of islanders who were conflicted on what to do. Go back alone to find out the person you like recoupled? Recouple with someone new and break the heart of your former partner? Rarely do couples reunite with both of them single after Casa Amor.
The way the recoupling will work is that the girls in the main villa will decide whether to recouple or stick with their original couple from before Casa Amor. The boys from Casa Amor will then walk back into the villa, either alone or with somebody else, if they decided to recouple.
Jen was up first, and she was single prior to Casa Amor. She was getting to know both Gal and Ronnie, but decided to couple up with Gal. This could lead to some future drama, as Kenzie is also interested in Gal. Meanwhile, Caleb was the only single boy in Casa Amor. That means his recoupling with Jaiden did not come with any drama. Everyone was happy to welcome him back with a new girl.
Kenzie was up next, who was previously coupled up with Corbin. She stood up and laid into Corbin for his actions in Casa Amor that she got to see on a livestream. Kenzie decided to recouple with Dylan, whom she had been getting to know over the past few days. Unsurprisingly, Corbin decided to come back with Parmida. He was promptly booed when he returned, a first in Love Island history.
Kayda was up next, who had been in a very close couple with Zach prior to recoupling. She was upset that she had seen Zach kissing someone else on the postcard, but ultimately decided to stay loyal to Zach. Things worked out, as Zach also decided to come back alone.
Melanie had been getting to know Corey in Casa Amor, and things had been going really well. However, it was hard for her to shut off her feelings for Sincere. Ultimately, she decided to stick with her original couple. Despite getting very close to Amora in Casa Amor, Sincere decided to come back alone to get back with Melanie. Despite them both choosing to recouple, Melanie made it clear that she was not happy with how Sincere had behaved.
Trinity quickly decided during the Casa Amor experience that her feelings were only there for Bryce. Luckily, Bryce felt exactly the same way. Both of them were very respectful towards their partners during this experience and decided to stick together. They are arguably the only couple that doesn’t have anything to be upset about based on what happened over the past few days.
Aniya was the last girl to go. She spent a lot of time getting to know Carl, who treated her great during this time. However, Aniya is far too good a person to be on this show, and decided to stay loyal to KC. Unfortunately for her, KC did not decide to stay loyal to her. He came back with Tierra, with whom he had gotten close in Casa Amor. He did not get a warm reception from the girls, and Aniya was understandably incredibly emotional. This was clearly the toughest part of the night.
All of the Casa Amor bombshells that didn’t get chosen got sent home. From the main villa, that was Carl, Chay, Corey and Ronnie. From Casa Amor, that was Sydney, Amora and Alannah. However, the vote announced after the show revealed that one boy and one girl who got dumped from Casa Amor would have the chance to come back.
