Bill Yin highlights top prop bets for De’Aaron Fox for Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.
De’Aaron Fox has been instrumental for the Spurs making it this far into the postseason, with 15.9 PPG and 5.9 APG. His efficiency leaves much to be desired, slashing just .428/.294/.750, but his veteran calm under pressure has helped this young team navigate some late game situations.
The Spurs once again need Fox to be at his best tonight to force a 2-2 series tie heading back home to San Antonio.
Here are some of the best De’Aaron Fox prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s matchup:
Fox has scored seven, 20, and 12 points in the first three Finals games, so he has only cleared this once in the series, but the shot volume is still there. Fox has taken 13, 12, and 14 shots against the Knicks, and Game 2 showed how quickly this number opens up when the efficiency stays reasonable. The bigger selling point is San Antonio’s need for him as the veteran guard next to Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs want Fox touching the paint, playing in pick-and-roll, and forcing New York to choose between staying home on shooters or collapsing into help. His ankle injury has clearly dragged down some of his upside, but 14.5 is a market correction. If Fox gets another 12-to-14 shot workload and the Knicks shade extra attention toward Wembanyama after his Game 3 surge, he should just about have enough juice to get past this number.
Fox has done a reasonable job this series in distributing the ball, averaging 6 APG throughout this Finals series. He’s averaging 5.9 APG throughout the Spurs’ current playoff run, which is already above this number tonight.
San Antonio had 28 assists in Game 3 after recording just 16 in Game 1 and averaging only 22 through the first two games, and Fox’s distribution path is clear: use the pick-and-roll with Wembanyama, get downhill, force New York’s help, and pass the ball to shooters or cutters. If New York adjusts by loading up on Fox’s drives or sending extra bodies toward Wembanyama, that can still work in Fox’s favor as a passer. At 5.5, this lines up better with his his playoff production and the way San Antonio wants to play after finding its offensive rhythm.
