Why We Built “Ghiras”: Finding Quiet in a Distracted World

In a time when every digital space fights for our attention, our phones have become a constant source of noise. The painful irony is that this distraction has crept directly into our worship. When a Muslim opens an app seeking a moment of peace with their daily Dhikr or the Quran, they are too often met with intrusive ads, cluttered screens, or pop-ups asking for subscriptions.

That is exactly why we created Ghiras.

We didn’t want to build just another counter in the app store. We wanted to create a digital sanctuary—an oasis of calm. Ghiras is a Waqf (an endowment for the sake of Allah), meaning it is completely free, entirely ad-free, and designed with a strict respect for your peace of mind.

A Space Built for Reflection
Everything inside Ghiras was designed with one goal: to help you connect with your worship with true presence and awareness.

The Garden of Intentions
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) taught us that Jannah is an empty plain, and its plantings (Ghiras) are words of remembrance like SubhanAllah and Alhamdulillah. This Hadith inspired the heart of the app. With every Dhikr you make, a tree is visually planted in your interactive garden. In the "Garden of Intentions," you can direct your Dhikr toward a specific hope—seeking healing, relief from hardship, or success. It turns abstract numbers into a visual, growing achievement that carries profound personal meaning.

The Witnessing Land
Allah says in the Quran about the earth: (That Day, it will report its news). Stemming from this beautiful verse, we created a feature that privately maps the physical locations where you remember Allah. It serves as a quiet motivation to remember Him wherever you go, with the hope that those very spots will bear witness for you on the Day of Judgment.

A Quran Experience Focused on Depth
Instead of a standard digital reader, we built a Mushaf tailored for reflection and memorization. We integrated smart visual aids that highlight similar verses (Mutashabihat) to prevent confusion, and color-coded thematic divisions so you can naturally follow the flow of the surahs. For those memorizing, a dedicated Hifz mode helps test your recall, supported by offline, high-quality audio recitations.

Your Personal Wird and Tasbeeh
Because every person's routine is unique, Ghiras gives you a flexible space to organize your daily Wird. The smart Tasbeeh provides subtle haptic feedback and gentle sounds, keeping you grounded and present without needing to constantly look at your screen.

Privacy as a Priority
From a technical side, Ghiras is built to work entirely offline. There are no servers tracking your taps, no data collection, and absolutely nothing sold to third parties. Your witnessing locations, your daily routine, and your personal gardens remain encrypted and stored strictly on your device.

An Invitation to Plant
Ghiras isn't a commercial product; it is a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) built with passion. We hope it becomes a quiet, grounding companion in your daily life.

Download the app and start planting your garden: https://ghiras.web.app/?download=1

We invite you to experience it, and if it brings you peace, share it with those you love—for the one who guides to good is like the one who does it.
