Chinese Deep Research With AI Agents

The search-intent keyword for this guide is Chinese deep research with AI agents. That phrase usually comes from teams that already know English-first search is incomplete. Chinese product feedback, technical arguments, policy commentary, and founder discussion often live on platforms that do not show up cleanly in global web results. AutoSearch gives agents MCP-native access to 10+ Chinese sources inside a broader 40-channel research system.

This is especially useful for AI agents because they can route questions by source type. A market scan may need Xiaohongshu and Weibo. A technical question may need Zhihu, Bilibili, GitHub, and docs. A policy or industry read may need WeChat Official Accounts and academic sources.

Why Chinese source access matters

Translation is not the main challenge. Coverage is. Many valuable Chinese sources are not mirrored in English, and many summaries miss the local vocabulary that buyers, developers, or researchers actually use. An agent that only sees English pages may give a confident answer with a large blind spot.

AutoSearch addresses this by treating Chinese channels as first-class research targets. The agent can ask directly for Zhihu explanations, WeChat articles, Xiaohongshu product notes, Weibo reactions, or Bilibili technical videos, then compare those findings with English-language sources.

Match source to intent

Do not send every task to every channel. Use channels as a routing map. Zhihu is useful for long-form reasoning and comparisons. WeChat Official Accounts can contain detailed industry essays and company commentary. Xiaohongshu is valuable for consumer experience and product language. Weibo moves quickly and is better for reactions or incidents. Bilibili helps when technical explanations are video-led.

The agent prompt should say what kind of evidence matters. For example: "Collect Chinese user complaints about this category from Xiaohongshu and Weibo, then compare them with English reviews and official docs."

Keep the workflow MCP-native

MCP lets the agent host call AutoSearch without hardwiring source access into the model. Follow MCP setup, connect the host, and keep the prompt focused on a decision. The LLM can reason in English or Chinese, but retrieval remains a separate tool boundary.

That boundary is useful for teams. You can change the host or model later while keeping the same source workflow. You can also audit which channels were used when the answer matters.

Validate before deciding

Chinese social platforms are rich but noisy. Ask the agent to separate first-person experience, expert explanation, product promotion, and repeated claims. Cross-check with official docs, GitHub, academic sources, or English community discussion when possible.

The examples page shows the kind of narrow tasks that work well. A good Chinese deep research task asks for a table of sources, claim clusters, evidence strength, and open questions.

Setup path

Start with install, connect AutoSearch to your host, and run one Chinese-specific query that your current workflow cannot answer. Deep research becomes practical when agents can see the actual source ecosystems where the conversation is happening.

For recurring work, save the source plan with the prompt. A Chinese competitor scan, product review scan, and technical RFC scan should not use the same channel mix. The agent should explain which sources were selected, what each source is good for, and which claims still need validation. This makes the result easier for bilingual teammates to review. It also keeps AutoSearch in the right role: broad, inspectable retrieval through MCP while the host model handles translation, synthesis, and final recommendations.
