Forget ChatGPT & Gemini — These New AI Tools Actually Solve Real Problems (No BS)
Nitin Sharma · 2026-04-24 · via DEV Community

Let me be honest, every one of us is simply obsessing over ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.

No doubt, these are some of the best AI tools, and there is no debate there.

But we have tons of other new AI tools as well that can save you hours, automate boring work, and even help you make money faster.

However, finding the best AI tools is a nightmare.

You end up watching lots of YouTube videos, reading long threads, and trying tools that promise a lot but don’t really work.

I know this because I do it every week to find the best AI headshot generators, best AI detectors, best AI humanizer tools, best web scraping tools, best AI text-to-speech generators, and more.

I even test many new AI tools and remove the ones that aren’t useful, so you don’t have to waste your time.

And instead of giving you 50 random AI tools, I only share the ones that truly matter, the ones that can save you time, help you earn money, or make your work easier.

Note: This post contains a few affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you try a tool, at no extra cost to you.

With that said, let’s get started.

1. AnswerThis

If you follow me, you may know that I’ve always recommended Perplexity for your research-related tasks.

And honestly, it’s still one of the best tools out there.

But recently, I started using AnswerThis, and it genuinely surprised me.

This tool gives you access to 300M+ research papers and focuses on one simple thing: turning messy, overwhelming information into clean, structured, citation-backed insights.

Getting Started With AnswerThis

To get started, simply visit their website and click on the button, “Start researching — it’s free”, to create your account.

Try AnswerThis

Once you’re in, you can:

  • Get quick answers with proper citations
  • Discover relevant research papers
  • Analyze data and identify research gaps
  • Write and refine content using AI

AnswerThis Working

As you can see, I asked a simple question, and I got summarized insights with all the related research papers, which I can polish with AI, upload specific papers inside the library folder to further research, and more.

Talking about the pricing, you can get started for free with just 5 credits per month along with some more features.

AnswerThis Pricing

So if you are a student, medical professional, educator, researcher, or someone similar who wants to do academic research, then this AI tool is for you.

Just so you know:

I didn’t just “read” 10 books and 100 articles this month; I actually mastered them with my NotebookLM workflow.

The difference between forgetting what you learn and actually owning that knowledge is the specific workflow you use to connect the dots inside NotebookLM.

Well, that’s what I focus on.

And I’ve documented my entire “Deep Digestion” process inside “The Unfair Playbook for NotebookLM”.

It’s designed for anyone who is tired of information overload and wants to start building a high-leverage knowledge base that works for them 24/7.

You can keep losing track of your best ideas, or you can grab the playbook and never lose a breakthrough again.

2. Denovo

You know, I’ve been finding AI tools that actually help in building businesses, solving problems, or simply saving you time.

One of the AI tools working in this space is NotebookLM, and the other one I think is Denovo.

Getting Started With Denovo

But Nitin, what is Denovo?

Well, it’s an AI tool where you just need to add your idea, and it instantly starts evaluating and building your business with every detail you need, like market size, competitive landscape, along with building your startup kit from a pitch deck, business plan, and even a working MVP.

Trying Denovo

Along with that, you can even operate it by connecting it with Slack, Gmail, and more for your marketing and operations automatically.

To be honest, I don’t actually think this AI tool can become big, but they are giving an idea about how AI tools can actually be made to help in creating a complete business.

As you can see, it gave me some free credits, which reset every month and only help in evaluating my ideas.

Denovo Pricing

And to build the products, business plans, pitch decks, and more, you need to buy one of their paid plans.

3. ChatGPT Images 2.0

You know, I am actually a true fan of Nano Banana, and have written a number of posts sharing the insane use cases it has and the way we can use it inside our daily workflow.

But now, I’m seeing insane and realistic outputs from the ChatGPT Images 2.0 model as well.

Shonen-Style Anime Character

But what can it do? Well, it can generate infographics, readable menus, UI elements, comics, and marketing assets with accurate text and character consistency.

I’ve even tried generating an image with one of my favorite prompts:

Commercial product photography of a luxury perfume bottle made of amber glass, placed on a dark reflective surface. The bottle is surrounded by splashing water and swirls of golden smoke. The lighting is backlit to make the liquid inside the bottle glow. The text on the bottle label reads “Eternity”. Macro lens details, water droplets on the glass, 8k resolution, unreal engine 5 render style.

And here’s what ChatGPT generated:

Marketing Photo using ChatGPT Images 2.0

Insanely useful, right?

If you want to see some more examples of what ChatGPT Images 2.0 can do, then simply click here.

4. Claras

Honestly, I spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos in a number of niches from AI, tech, science, farming, travelling, and more.

And I’m seeing that a lot of time is simply wasted when I can be more productive using AI tools like Claras.

Getting Started With Claras

To get started, simply visit their website and download the Chrome extension.

Claras Working

And then you can see the content, summary, transcript, and even ask AI for a particular topic that you want to learn about.

If you want to further research a topic or a specific YouTube video, you can download the PDF version or share it with someone right from their extension.

It’s in beta version right now, so one can use it for free, and after some time you need to subscribe to one of their paid plans.

Claras Pricing

And I think their monthly plan, which starts at $4.39 per month, is actually a good deal since you can do unlimited video transcription, AI chat, and summaries.

5. Gemma 4

So far, you may have heard about tons of open-source LLM models which run on your computer.

You may even have run OpenClaw for free using the Ollama models and automated your daily tasks.

However, Google recently launched an open-source model that runs on your mobile without the internet, and it’s called Gemma 4.

Talking about the performance, it is far better than you can think of.

Gemma 4 Performance

You see, both the Gemma 4 models are small in size but competing with Qwen 3.5 and Kimi K2.5 thinking models.

Getting Started With Gemma 4

To try it, you need to download the “Google AI Edge Gallery” app from the Play Store or App Store and then use Gemma 4.

Sure, you can even try out Gemma 4 inside Google AI Studio if you want.

But Nitin, what can it do? Well, you can use Gemma 4 for code generation, building agentic workflows, vision and audio, advanced reasoning, and more.

Gemma 4 Features

6. InstantDB

We all know that it’s become too easy to write a prompt and build websites or apps.

But what about integrating a backend to manage data, scale further, and more?

Getting Started With InstantDB

Well, that’s where you can use InstantDB, which runs directly in the frontend, syncs data in real-time, works offline by default, and handles backend complexity for you.

To be more precise, you can manage everything from auth, permissions, storage, presence, streams, and more without any complexity, and build apps like Figma and Notion with InstantDB.

InstantDB Features

To learn more, they have complete documentation along with tutorials, examples, recipes, and more.

The best part is that it has a generous free plan where you can send unlimited API requests and get 1GB of database space to help you get started.

InstantDB Pricing

So if you are someone who wants to build a full-stack app with all the features like Figma and Notion, then InstantDB is one of the best options for you.

Hope you like it.

If this resonated with you, share it with someone who needs to read it, since most people want to learn practically about AI but won’t access posts like this.

And that’s where you can help someone you care about use AI practically and get ahead.

Also, don’t forget to check out “The Unfair Playbook for NotebookLM” where I shared the exact set of NotebookLM workflows I use daily to run my work faster than feels normal.
