When I tell developers about n8n -- a workflow automation platform with over 186,000 GitHub stars -- most say they've heard of it. But when I ask them to show me their production workflows, I see the same 5 mistakes repeated every single time.

n8n isn't just "another Zapier alternative." It's a programmable AI workflow engine that, when used correctly, can automate complex multi-agent pipelines that would otherwise require a full DevOps team.

Why n8n Is Different From Zapier/IFTTT

2. Hidden Pattern: Stateful Memory Chains Across Sessions

What it is: n8n can maintain persistent conversation memory across workflow runs using vector databases. This means your AI "remembers" past interactions, user preferences, and context from weeks ago.
